The Sad truth - domestic violence
parmiss_joojoo16 June 2020
The movie would touch the viewers from The very first scene. The act could have been better, as well as the editing. Overall a good movie to watch. Sad truth of many women across many countries being victims of domestic violence.

Detailed masterpiece!
Neverhood0072 November 2019
It's a shame this movie has faced censorship in Iran over the last 10 years... It's one of the best Iranian movies I have ever seen. so much attention to the details... how the director makes you feel every single thing till the end even if you've never experienced what is happening in the film.

I hope every single movie fan can see this freely in the cinema again and enjoy the hell out of this cinematic masterpiece.

10/10.

Narrating a crime in the body of time
baharsoleimanpour24 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This is for people who have seen the movie!

A common trend in each episode is the path to exposing the body. In each episode, a Process is arranged based on cause and effect to expose this crime. Interestingly, the root cause of the crime is not stated. Because from the filmmaker's point of view, killing a girl by her father is inherently reprehensible, and this can be generalized for any reason. However, in the envelope, given the definition of a value called honor and the petrified gaze of his father and brother, the roots of this event are somewhat clear.

The weight of the gaze can be seen in a subjective view where the girls are enclosed in a small hole each time. In a beautiful etymology, K. Ayari sees the origin of all this happening in a mental view. Where a wrong belief leads to a crime and its consequences.

Although the film is not optimistic, it may be able to impress fanatics with its shocking portrayal. Perhaps by tracing its historical roots, it will prevent the repetition of history.

A brilliant idea... very poorly executed.
ShayanGivehchian16 November 2019
After many years and a lot controversies with Iranian authorities this movie was finally released. And with a respectable cast and director I went in the the theater with high expectations; sadly non of which was met. The movie follows the story of a father and Son committing a violent crime in an attempt to hide the disgraceful act of their family member. We witness the effect and consequences this brings for future generations living in the crime scene,The Paternal House. The general idea is very interesting, and in the beginning the viewer is drawn to it very quickly. The suspicion and curiosity of the viewer however is left unanswered throughout the entire film. Many questions are left unanswered, and not in a good story telling kind of way. On the other hand there is plenty sequences which add nothing to the story and deserves no screen time One if the biggest disappointments of this movie is the acting considering the cast consists of elite level actors. Many dramatic scenes are absolutely emotionless even though its expected to be very intense. Many scenes are what is generally considered very amateur filmmaking and uses weak symbolism which is kind of offensive to the viewer. Over all, the general concept of the movie is interesting and attempts to tackle interesting social issues, but the quality of the production, editing and acting was so horrible that makes this movie a failure in my opinion which I dont consider to be worth anyone's time.
