Tiger Lily Road is a very enjoyable exploration of gender/sexual role reversals. I thought about the film for a long time after seeing it. I found it surprising that I laughed at things that I would not have found funny if the genders of the characters involved had been reversed. It portrays a realistic long-term female friendship with its inherent complications and nuances. The two female leads are very convincing in their roles and are a pleasure to watch on screen. The male lead is also a treat to watch. The film also touches on female sexual desire in a 70+ character, which is largely ignored in other films and in our culture. I laughed out loud throughout the film and at one point laughed so hard I cried. I want everyone I know to see this film.
