Satuday Night Live Host: Seth MacFarlene; Musical Guest: Frank Ocean
dalydj-918-25517516 September 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Democratic Rally: The cold open introduces us to out first glimpse of Jay Pharaoh's Obama impression presented by past Obama Fred Armisen. Also in the sketch is Sudeikis's Mitt Romney and playing his running mate Tarran Killam. I thought the sketch was very good with Jay Pharoh doing a much better job then Fred ever did all the chances he got. B (MVP: Jay Pharaoh)

Monologue: Seth MacFarlene is hosting tonight probably because for the success of Ted this summer. He starts with the voices and it's great to see how he can quickly transition between all of them, then he must sing a long about them all and he does have a very good singing voice. Sure it's funny how he does it but if he relies on them it could be a bad show. B+ (MVP: Seth MacFarlene)

Obama Political Ad: The Ad paid by Obama about how Mitt Romney paid for companies for Bane then they would go bankrupt and these people would get fired. Quick taped skit but not really anything worth talking about. B-(MVP: Bill Hader)

Sex After 50: With Kristen Wiig go we they had to make a new show about audience members asking questions to Fred Armisen as the replacement host. Funny but this sketch has always never been funny for me. D+ (MVP: Fred Armisen)

Clint Eastwood... And the Chair: We knew it was coming but I thought they would replay the speech but a comedy act is funnier to me as Hader does some great impressions. Short and sweet but still we knew it was coming. B- (MVP: Bill Hader)

Lids Club: We first see a normal shop but then we get to see "Gangham Star", it's the funniest song and it shows how this show stays so relevant. But after a while it can old and that's why this dhow did get a bit annoying especially bringing all the extra people in to help, even getting the real guy who continues his tour of America. C+ (MVP: Bobby Moynihan)

Introduction to Puppetry: Puppets and Hader seems to be doing his intense voice while the other actors are more funnier. Funny moments with all the actors especially Hader using the puppet. Seth MacFarlene as the teacher try's to keep Coleman from causing any trouble but he just gets to be a little weird and that's why I was laughing all through the sketch. A (MVP: Bill Hader)

Frank Ocean - "Thinking About You": That was a very good vocal from Frank and makes me wonder will this show help him get more widely well known. A- (MVP: Frank Ocean)

Weekend Update: Usually my least favourite part of the as someone other then Seth needs to host it because unlike past hosts is not as funny. Thank god we got Honey Boo Boo Child with Vanessa Bayer as Honey and Bobby as the mother. I thought was funny as Honey and would watch her do it again. Then we get Seth MacFarlene as Ryan Lochte talking about new fall television getting him just right (I do not like Ryan at all as he is very light headed). We are introduced to new cast member Cecilt Strong as a Latino woman and she is funny making a strong first impression. B (MVP: Cecily Strong)

Basic Training: Where Seth plays a stuttering army Capitan, talking to all his army mates about how he does not have a stutter, and it's a waste of a sketch to film time. C (MVP: Seth MacFarlene)

Style Makeover: Kenan Thompson plays Steve Harvey giving people makeovers making them look the exact same way that he does, first is Seth who's wife wanted him to get a makeover. A really bad sketch but not everyone can be great. D (MVP: Kenan Thompson)

Blind Date: The show is almost over and it's the first sight of Nasim but they do not give her the best sketch, but we do get to see a quick glimpse of Aidy Bryant.Even a robbery goes wrong but this sketch I found to be funny because all the actors did was short voices. B- (MVP: Nasim Padrad)

Frank Ocean - "Pyramids": His second song not as effective as his first song but his vocals are still very good. Side note to the side we see John Mayer once again playing guitar so great to see him on the show. B (MVP: Frank Ocean)

Wooden Spoon Warehouse: Last sketch and it's Seth with new cast member and it's just about ho to find a website. B- (MVP: Seth MacFarlene)

I liked the show tonight and am glad it's back with some funny sketches but some really bad ones at the same time.

EPISODE GRADE: B- (MVP: Bill Hader)
