Longmire -A Damn Shame

My wife and I write these stream of consciousness "reviews".

8 stars. All our reviews begin with 8 stars.

Two episodes in a row where the animals have more lines than Walt.

To all you horses out there: Only you can prevent barn fires.

Special sound-proof flooring?

At 38:27 -Hollywood cliche #060: never take an easy head shot at an armed suspect holding a hostage.

This seems to be a rather lackluster episode, yet not so bad as to deserve down voting.

8 stars (barely).

Stretched Pretty Far

I have to agree with the other reviewer this time. While I enjoy the characters in this show (only three episodes so far), this plot lacked a great deal of credibility. The beginning was good with the horse barn burned and the investigation. Once Longmire realizes there is something fishy and finds he is correct, things go south. The denouement is really weak. I'm assuming the writing will get better since this show went on for six seasons.

Longmire, episode three

Warning: Spoilers
I found it nearly impossible to believe that a fugitive from the mob would create an elaborate deception to conceal his identity and whereabouts for a number of years, then suddenly act like an out-of-control child at the very moment when he was close to being saved from his pursuer. It absolutely defied logic. I have no personal experience with hiding from a deadly pursuer, but it seems to me that a densely-populated area would make more sense than an area with relatively few people. The "Ferg" character seems utterly pointless as part of the cast. Also, the deputy sheriff's effort to create a distraction, as he was ordered to do by the sheriff, was absolutely silly. Running around exposed while firing a pistol into the air was absolutely nonsensical, in my opinion.
