Style Media has elevated Sarah Weidman to the newly created position of Svp, Original Programming and Development. In her new role Weidman, most recently Svp, Development & New Series, will expand her role to manage all original programming while continuing to oversee development and new series for the network. In 2011, Weidman launched two of Style’s highest rated original series, Tia & Tamera and Big Rich Texas. The latest shows she developed, new original docu-series, Chicagolicious and Empire Girls: Julissa & Adrienne, premiere this month. Weidman, a 20-year non-scripted veteran, has been at Style since 2006 when she joined as Executive Producer, Development and New Series.

At its upfront presentation today, Style Media announced a 25% increase in original programming with the addition of five new original series to its schedule and six other series projects to its development slate, joining returning shows Tia & Tamera and Glam Fairy. The newly picked up series include Betsey + LuLu, starring fashion designer Betsey Johnson and produced by Magical Elves; an aspirational home makeover series starring Bill Rancic; a show toplined by Adrienne Bailon and Julissa Bermudez; and previously announced Jerseylicious spinoff Chicagolicious. Style’s series in development include a celebrity-driven show starring So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley and another headlined by Kimora Lee Simmons. The first of Style’s new original series, Empire Girls: Julissa & Adrienne, premieres June 3. “Our upcoming slate builds on Style’s commitment to develop compelling programming that showcases fascinating personalities with an insatiable appetite for stylish living,” said Style’s Svp original programming Sarah Weidman.
