The Weatherman sends a monsoon to Alaska and intones, "Blow, winds, and crack your cheeks! Rage!" In 'King Lear' Act 3; Scene 1 a great storm is raging and the old and powerless king has just been stripped of all his possessions and thrown out into the storm by his greedy and ungrateful daughters. In, possibly, defiance of the storm or his own growing senility, he shouts, "Blow, winds, and crack your cheeks! Rage! Blow! You cataracts and hurricanoes, spout till you have drench'd our steeples, drown'd the cocks!"
