A lot of commentators try to present immigration as a dry, conceptual matter about sovereignty and legal matters, but the issue's human face makes it way too adaptable to storytelling. That's what's killing anti-immigration activism in public polling — people like good stories too goddamn much.
The sharp, funny Coyote documents the narratives of two people disconnected from the realities of cross-border politics. One is a federal inspector meeting U.S. border agents for the first time. Screen Media Films and Starz Digital Media have partnered on North American rights to Ellie Kanner’s comedy Authors Anonymous starring Kaley Cuoco, Chris Klein, Dennis Farina, Jonathan Bennett, Dylan Walsh, and Teri Polo.
The film is set for an early spring 2014 launch across VOD and digital platforms and on limited theatrical release.
Authors Anonymous tells of a dysfunctional group of unpublished writers whose newest member enjoys overnight success.
The distributors brokered the deal with Traction Media on behalf of the film-makers.
Gravitas Ventures has set a January 1 2014 worldwide VOD release for Joe Eddy’s comedy/drama Coyote (pictured), about a social misfit who befriends an illegal Mexican labourer’s family across the border. The film won the feature competition grand jury prize at the Dances With Films festival last summer. Gravitas has a deal with the festival to distribute the winner.

One could say that Dances With Films had a "sweet sixteen," as the sixteenth year of the Santa Monica-based independent film festival recently wrapped up its most successful year yet, expanding to more days and selling out more screenings than ever before.
