The first U.S. Women's Tae Kwon Do Olympic Team won more medals over the men's team: 3 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze. No other U.S. Tae Kwon Do team has broken this record as of yet.
While a student at Howard University, Cherrelle e'Lan learned about the first U.S. Women's Tae Kwon Do Team to compete in the Olympic Games. Members of the 1988 Olympic Team trained at Howard University in preparation for the competition in Seoul, Korea.
