The Romanians again
kosmasp16 September 2015
If you take anything from this movie, than not to travel to Romania. Just kidding of course. Though the location and some unsafe "enviromental" issues are a big thing here, this is just a movie. Based in fantasy and tale telling. The effects (especially the gore/blood) is pretty decent to say the least.

The story flows along nicely (like the blood, although the latter is also squirting a lot) and the acting is decent enough for a low budget horror movie like this. The action/stunt scenes are good enough, again by the standards you can apply to a movie like this. So overall this is watchable, if you like low budget. One thing you should avoid, especially in Germany, is the dubbed version of this ... there's more emotion coming from any facial expression Steven Seagal is giving us, than from any voice which was used to dub this

average movie worth watching

good movie. more like drama than horror. Modern love story with vampirism. movie progresses pretty interestingly, minimum of special effects. descent blood/gore scenes. actors play well. I didn't like the thing that the movie is just too straight line. It describes life of one couple, without involving any environmental issues like police, news and etc. that's why it lacks a bit of realism. overall, good B movie with descent love story

Modern tale of vampirism
mario_c5 March 2014
Warning: Spoilers
After an accident in Romania, the native land of his girlfriend, ALEX (Yannick Rosset) received a blood transfusion in this country. Back home he starts noticing some strange changes in his body and also hallucinations when he watches himself on the mirror. At first sight he thinks it's just delusions but then a weird appetite for blood appears…

CHIMÈRES is a modern tale of vampirism. It follows the same lines of the traditional vampire story but it's passed nowadays, with some new elements. It's also a story of love and altruism, so in that point of view, I didn't appreciate too much that ending of revenge.

It's beautifully shot and has nice scenes of suspense and a good soundtrack, effective to create tension! I score it 7/10.

Delightfully Unique, A different Love Story
lance-schmidt18 October 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This was a pleasure to watch, beautifully shot, great scenery, and superlatively acted both Jasna and Yannick had breakthrough performances. Since neither the title nor the trailer gave the film away you could enjoy the evolution of the film from the typical young couple in love's holiday or vacation. To a horrible accident and then slow recovery or metamorphosis or does Alexandre just need to be locked away in an asylum? Regardless, Livia never abandons him but instead tries first to help him then joins him in his new life. Her fight scenes weren't done by stunt doubles it was really Jasna performing. Her beauty and even sex scene seemed real and organic with out being gratuitous. Oliver Beguin has arrived and I only hope he gives us many more treats like this in his career. His homage to angel heart isn't lost. No it was not a Blade or Carrie homage although that would have been fine too. It was Angel Heart that grabbed him as a youngster and now he pays tribute. What a fun film!
