Factual errors

Detective Shaw, being former military, tells Cosgrove they should not arrest someone at the funeral for a military veteran because they deserve respect. However Shane Risner was dishonorably discharged from the Army, meaning he lost all his military rights including the right to a military funeral and the right to be treated with the respect due to a veteran. Someone who used to be in the military would know this. Plus Cosgrove had a very good point, they did not know the intentions of the murder suspect, procedure would have called for them to take him into custody right away.
The detectives are directed to a suspect by GPS-tracking the anti-theft system in a vehicle that was identified by its license plate. But the vehicle is then shown to be an '87-91 Ford F150, which has no anti-theft system, and no GPS.
The Colonel's shadow box contained two Distinguished Service Crosses (including the one that was stolen) and two Bronze Star Medals. When U.S. Service members receive an additional award of the same medal, they are not given a second physical medal, but are instead authorized to place a 'star' device on the suspension ribbon of the medal they already have.

Character error

Actor Michael Bakkensen introduces his character to the district attorneys as "Sergeant Major Brice Crawford", which is grade E-9 in the U.S. Army; however, the insignia on his uniform sleeve is that of a sergeant first class (grade E-7). The insignia for sergeant major has three chevrons above three arcs, with additional symbols in the area between the lowest chevron and uppermost arc.
