just watched dis now... awesome one . excellent presentation...

The landscape shown at the end of movie is really fantastic. I am looking for the making of the film. How did they shoot at this remote location? Can anybody find it? The initial part of the film is not that interesting, it speaks about the culture and people of sikkim...bla bla...bla. The second half of the film is just beautiful landscape...awesome.

At some part of the film, it says about the Britishers taking away rhododendron plants from the Himalayas to Europe in the eighteen century. It helped the spread of these beautiful flowering endemic shrubs to the entire world. Many of the Himalayan nations like Bhutan has a very strict forest policy now, to prevent the movement of endemic species outside their country.

I like it

Just watched the film on Youtube. These are a few of the most beautiful locations on the Earth. I wonder how they managed to shoot at this remote location. It made me remember about the film, Himalaya : one shot at the Dolpa region of Nepal.

Over all the documentary is good, but a bit of lagging at the initial half. The real gem of the film is after half time. Very good narration, I could learn a lot about Sikkim from the film.

The movie is bit biased towards the Indian side and says about planting exotic species of trees in the Himalayas.

It would have been better if there was time lapse and few Arial shots.

Not Comparable to Hollywood

Perhaps this cannot be compared to the best in the lot like Himalaya with Michael Palin or some thing like that.

The effort the director would have put in , must be extreme. I have done Goecha-la trek once, and it is through places with no electricity or support for 10 days. My camera gave up by the second day and that was the end of photography.

Shooting at this kind of locations require a lot of patience and effort. I wonder how the team made this film with such a low budget.

Anyway thanks for making this. I could see the places I have been on my computer
