- Michelle waits in line at what she thinks is a new coffee shop. The woman in front of her in line with her nose in a book informs her it's not new, it belongs to "Bash," or Sebastian (Sean Gunn, "Kirk" from "Gilmore Girls"), who was away at a coffee competition.
He gives the woman her polysyllabic latte with a peace symbol in the foam. The first one looked like a Mercedes Benz logo, so he had to redo it.
Michelle tries to order, but he informs her he doesn't subscribe to the idea that the customer gets to choose. He asks her a bunch of questions (type of medication, eaten any spicy food lately) and then starts sniffing the beans.
In the studio, Fanny leads rehearsals for "The Nutcracker" but the girls are dragging. Michelle comes in looking for her phone and sees girls crashing to the floor from exhaustion. Fanny tells Michelle to show them how it's done. She does a jetee, but Fanny pronounces it terrible.
After three hours Fanny finally allows a break -- with no water and no sitting.
Fanny is upset she can't find her Clara.
Michelle tells Fanny that her old friend Richard is directing a traveling company of Follies. Michelle doesn't want to hit up a friend, but Fanny points out no one ever got anywhere staying at home waiting to be noticed.
Michelle leaves him a message, with a reference to time they spent on Martha's Vineyard.
Outside, Michelle finds Ginny and Melanie hiding in the bushes, trying to avoid Fanny picking them for Clara. They know they don't stack up to Sasha.
Charlie comes to pick them up and Ginny tries to avoid sitting in the front next to him, now that she knows he likes her. She fails.
At the Oyster Bar, the girls find it weird that Sasha's not around. They wonder how to get Sasha to apologize to Fanny so she can come back to class.
Sasha shows up, cherry about cheerleading. She says cheerleading is the best, they only have to practice an hour a day and her "secret sister" on the team keeps giving her presents. They tell her Fanny's been a menace since she got kicked out.
They're appalled when she giggles about cheerleading. "She's one ponytail away from needing an intervention," Ginny declares.
In line again at Bash's coffee shop, Michelle leaves another message with Richard's assistant asking him to call her. She puts her phone in her cavernous purse and it starts to ring. Fumbling around for it she knocks her coffee off the bar to the horror of Bash.
It's just Fanny, asking her to open the studio early. Michelle cleans up the mess but then manages to knock over Bash's prized coffee trophy.
She shows up at the studio to find that Fanny also called Truly to open as backup.
Boo is ready to rehearse with Carl. When Michelle offers to give pointers, Boo takes her outside and explains that she likes Carl and rehearsal is the only time they get together. Michelle makes excuses and leaves, but Carl gets right down to business.
Later, with Fanny back in the studio, Michelle goes through old photos of her friend Richard to reassure herself that they were as close as she remembers.
Fanny moans about her casting troubles and Michelle points out the obvious solution, that she just ask Sasha. But Fanny thinks Sasha has to apologize first.
Michelle tries Richard again and hears him in the background as his assistant says he's not there. She gets angry and tells him not to bother.
Michelle slinks into Bash's and is stunned to find there is no line. Bash hides his trophy from her and is still angry. He suggests she wait 15 minutes for her coffee to be ready. She urges him to have a little perspective, reminding him he's not curing cancer, he's just making coffee.
In response, he starts reading the manual to his espresso machine. Michelle loses it, telling him she's looking forward to the grocery store coffee shop opening, with their inevitable world music and look of Seattle in the 90s.
At the studio, Michelle finishes up her adult class. The kids come in wearing all manner of bandages, but are suddenly better when Michelle tells them she's leading Fanny's class today.
Truly brings the costumes for the Ginger and Fred dance at the big supermarket opening, but Sam breaks the news that it's not opening. The Association for the Preservation for Keeping it Real in Paradise got them on a zoning violation.
Boo is crushed that she won't get to dance with Carl with no opening. Michelle vows to get the ruling overturned. "They're not taking Khaleesi's dragons!" she promises (Game of Thrones reference).
At a basketball game, the head cheerleader asks Sasha not to kick so high, she's making the other's look bad. Ginny, Melanie and Boo sit down and Boo sees Carl in the front row flirting with another girl. Charlie and Dez show up.
Charlie fits in next to Ginny, who begins acting very odd.
Down on the floor, Sasha flubs her cheer with a coughing fit. Ginny abruptly turns away from Charlie to try to talk to Boo, who ignores her and goes to talk to Sasha. Ginny manages to fall on top of several people on her way down.
Ginny tries talking to Sasha but only manages to get her in trouble with the head cheerleader, who interrupts when it's time for the victory cheer, even though they're losing by a million. She wants to motivate the team. "How about we cheer: Stay in school, learn algebra, you have no future in sports?" Sasha suggests.
She elaborates, saying that this is what's wrong with men today, they're constantly told they're awesome in high school and not prepared for the fact they're not when they get into the real world.
Boo tries to talk to Carl, who isn't that upset their dance got canceled and says he's giving up dancing. He shoes her away so he can concentrate on the game.

Michelle brings a stack of flyers to the Oyster Bar and asks Godot to hand them out. He flirts shamelessly with her.
At Melanie's house, she's ready to stuff her face but Ginny is putting on make-up for Charlie's arrival. He and Dez come in, Ginny turns into a babbling idiot again and they leave. Finally, she tells Melanie that ever since she found out he likes her, she hasn't been able to think straight.
"I can't do this! I can't be always be interesting and never hungry, it makes me want Josh back, cause at least I could eat and speak and wear comfortable pants," she says.
Melanie is upset that Ginny would even consider liking him knowing how Boo feels about him.
At Michelle's meeting to bring back the grocery store, she's told everyone a different ruse to get them there. Melanie thinks it's a "Sound of Music" singalong, an older couple is expecting a bris and Boo and Ginny thought they were going to Skype with Hugh Jackman.
Sam starts the meeting and Michelle argues for another grocery store. The owner of the only market in town is on the committee. They don't mind only having access to one mustard.
Michelle thinks they're afraid of progress, but they tell her about the environmental study saying there would be a lot of pollution, two-headed fish and diseased ducks.
Boo sees Carl outside and goes upstairs to meet him. She apologizes for not defending him when Ginny and Melanie mocked him. She tells him she wants to be more than dance partners and he kisses her.
They're interrupted by Melanie and Ginny, who reacts by pointing out that that makes Charlie fair game. Boo is distracted by talk of Charlie and upset that Ginny would go for him knowing how she feels about him. Carl hears this and leaves. Boo realizes she's an idiot.
Downstairs after the meeting, Godot helps Michelle clean up. He doesn't even like coffee, he came for back-up. He likes her "Dance your ass off shirt" and asks what it means. "That you're even younger than I realized," she says. He thinks she's hung up on ages.
He offers to take her surfing. She declines repeatedly, telling him he's adorable but they're never gonna happen.
Michelle finds Sasha sitting out at cheerleading practice. She sprained her spirit. Michelle notices they all kick the same unimpressive height.
She tells Sasha to just go apologize to Fanny. Sasha says she's going through stuff and Michelle wouldn't understand. Michelle points out she has less than two years left at home and just needs to suck it up.
Michelle tells her she knows from experience that one stupid mistake when you're young can change everything and that quitting ballet now would be stupid. She mocks the cheerleaders. "Are those jumps? Did they learn them in a room with really low ceilings?"
Michelle comes home to find a fancy news coffee maker waiting on her doorstep.
