Great

The film is quite suspenseful along with a lot of visual effects to catch the audience's attention. The sound effects and martial arts are dramatic as well. The scenes have a great transition of reality to darkness and back to reality. It would be interesting to see more interaction with the Lucifer. Plot is mindful and keep the audience focused on the main character. This film can easily extends its plot to be a 90 min movie with more martial arts and suspense. The original music fits well to the film to emphasize the fantasy. Great job for making it to the Roswell Cosmic-Con and Sacramento International Film Festival.

Though provoking film

Warning: Spoilers
This film is a very interesting exercise in exploring personal beliefs.

Solid cinematography, art direction, story and special effects (especially considering the budget!).

The characters are mythical and merely a context for representation or definition. Despite the previous review, I don't think the intention was to portray extensive depth of character. Instead, I think the movie was meant to focus on the story line and message using characters as the personification of concept.

This film is very thought provoking. At first it takes you on a typical good vs. evil path with the heroine overcoming several waves of adversity. It leaves with the unexpected plot twists toward the end wrap-up the movie in a way which leaves you with a sense of "more questions than answers".

If you enjoy movies which make you think and lead you down the ravel/unravel trail, you'll enjoy this short.

This is the movie to buy people.

I went to the first showing of Lucifer and the Magus (2012)at the Sacromento International Film Festival, and I have to say that I was blown away. The story line of this movie is something in which causes you to think, it connects to the world when you see a normal girl becoming much more than just ordinary. Just as the directors older film Shadow Beings(http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0995825/)told the story of five friends that unwittingly open a portal which allow an evil group of beings known as the Evil Ones to cross the veil from a parallel universe to our world. The special effects that were used in the film raised this movie to an even higher standard. The story contains suspense that causes you to get pulled into the movie, not to mention the added factor of learning why the world is in a downward spiral! My advise is to watch this movie the day its released.

Perhaps a College Production?
wrbtu13 September 2012
I read the earlier reviews here & I thought I'd be watching a professionally made short film. I don't know if this is a college production, & I hate to burst the bubbles of earlier reviewers, but this short is amateurish in every way: acting, direction, special effects, plot, "action sequences" (a misuse of that phrase; the actors do their own stunts, & without much success), etc.

The dialog is delivered in a stilted fashion, the script is hackneyed, & there is nothing here that hasn't been done dozens of times before with greater success. The photography is well-done, the locale is attractive, & there are some decent, basic special effects.

I would be kinder if I knew this was a high school or college production, but I don't know know that. If you're looking for an earnest attempt at film-making by a group of amateurs, you've come to the right place. If you're looking for a production with any of the standard Hollywood values, this is not the place to look.

I'm sorry that I believed the earlier reviewers here, & wasted my money on this.
