John Travolta Remembers James Cagney (2003)

Producer A.C. Lyles starts off talking about how various stars wanted him to introduce them to James Cagney but the legendary actor would usually refuse but he finally got him to agree to meeting John Travolta. This is where Travolta talks about becoming a fan of Cagney's at the age of five after seeing YANKEE DOODLE DANDY and we get a couple great stories about him mom using Cagney to try and getting the kid to do his chores. From here Travolta talks about what it was like meeting his idol for the first time and then we basically hear him talking about how much Cagney meant to him. For the most part this is a pretty nice tribute with Travolta telling a couple great stories but I do wish we had gotten more stories about the two men together. It would have been interesting to know what they discussed and various other things. It was strange seeing Travolta get so choked up towards the end. I think this featurette will mostly appeal to fans of Cagney.
