In 1902, the Reverend Edgar J. Helms of Morgan Methodist Chapel in Boston started "Morgan Memorial Cooperative Industries and Stores, Inc." as part of his ministry. Helms and his congregation collected used household goods and clothing being discarded in wealthier areas of the city, then trained and hired the unemployed or impoverished to mend and repair them. In 1915, the organization changed its name to "Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries", and eventually to simply "Goodwill Industries."
As of 2022, Goodwill operates in the United States and 13 countries around the world. In 2021, Goodwill recovered the value of more than 3.8 billion pounds of used goods.

Same premise as the original Quantum Leap (1989) episode The Boogieman - October 31, 1964 (1990), when Sam leaps into a gothic novelist and all kinds of unexplained things happen.
When Daisy quotes a Bible verse, she summarizes Revelation 2:10. The complete verse, in the New Revised Standard Version, reads: "Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Beware, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison so that you may be tested, and for ten days you will have affliction. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life."
Although Ben professes not to believe in demons, angels, or any higher power, and indeed a scientific explanation is found for Daisy's apparent possession, many installments of the original Quantum Leap (1989) heavily hinted at or outright involved the existence of such things. Ian does mention that Sam Beckett "believed" that God was controlling his leaps, but the original series was fairly explicit that that was, in fact, happening, and that the "evil leaper" that appeared several times was doing the work of the devil.
In the spirit of Halloween, Ian wears cat ears around the office. Mason Alexander Park, who portrays Ian, also played Desire in "The Sandman", who also wore cat ears as part of their costume for the role.
