The Police State of Egyptian President: Nasser in 1960s
R-Shammary9 September 2018
The movie showing a one of the stories about injustice, chaos and human abuse in the era of the police state of Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser (1952-1970). The movie may contain some exaggerations, which do not reflect a trustworthy history of Nasser's regime; because this movie was produced in 1979, under the authority of Egyptian President Anwar Sadat (1970-1981); who was trying to strengthen his powers by exaggerating the flaws of his predecessor: Nasser; especially after the Egypt-Israel peace treaty, which was signed in the same year (1979). Among the famous movies that share this movie in this feature (anti-Nasser):
  • Thartharah fawq al-Nil "Chitchat on the Nile", 1971
  • Al-asfour "The Sparrow", 1972
  • Al-Rasasa la tazalu fe gaibi "The Bullet Is Still in My Pocket", 1974
  • Al-karnak, 1975
  • Awdat al ibn al dal "The Return of the Prodigal Son", 1976
  • Wara al shams "Behind the Sun", 1978
