The real murder occurred in Pittsburg, CA and the victim lived in Antioch, CA. Pittsburg and Antioch are neighboring Contra Costa County cities located in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area. On the final night of shooting, on their way to film the murder scene, the seven-car caravan of cast and crew drove past a crime scene investigation taking place in the parking lot of an apartment complex in an Antioch area bordering Pittsburg. Call it a miracle or coincidence, but as luck would have it, both Antioch and Pittsburg Police Department police officers were on the scene. The director and one of the cinematographers, Bo Campbell, grabbed the camera and returned to film what would end up being the police scenes playing during the title credits which authentically connect to the true story in which both jurisdictions were involved.
