Jackie Chan and Johnny Knoxville in Skiptrace (2016)

Goofs

Skiptrace

Edit

Continuity

As Samantha comes down the stairs, she kicks her leg out of her dress and reveals a pair of black shoes. A few minutes later as she escorts Connor into the lift she's clearly wearing a pair of red shoes.
At the beginning of the film, when the red building breaks, it falls and crashes to the right. However, in the next shot, the building is standing upright, unbroken. In the shot after this, as Jackie Chan's character jumps off the ledge, the building can be seen falling and crashing to the right again.
Around 00:56:35, Dasha shoots in the car's lock and there is a hole. Around 00:57:20, the car's lock is visible again.
When Bennie and Yung first find Samantha locked into the flooding ship's cabin, there is just enough airspace for her to keep her face out of the water. When they come back later, the water level is lower, allowing her to keep her entire head out of the water.
When Bennie dives for Yung's watch, the building is falling outward towards the water. The next scene shows the building falling to the left (when viewing from outside).

Factual errors

When Samantha tries to evade capture, she used a taser to temporarily incapacitate three persons by using it on the pool of water. Not only is the charge on taser not strong enough to pass through a large surface of water to achieve that effect, the method would not work at all as all three of them are wearing thick leather shoes.
In the opening scene, Bennie shoots the chain of the handcuffs to free his partner from the rail. There are two things wrong with this. The first is that a pistol round is incapable of breaking a chain of this thickness; and second is that the bullet's energy would be transferred to his partner's wrist, yet there is no reaction at all - the link just breaks without moving the cuff..
When Bennie's partner jumps from the platform into the water while encased in the bomb, the bomb detonates just before entering the water. The result shows a large geyser shooting straight up. This does not happen with an above water explosion. The resulting upwards spray resembles a cone spreading outward, and not a shaft, as is shown here.

Miscellaneous

When Bennie and Connor are going through the "China Borders", they were asked to keep moving by a soldier. The dubbing is done by a person non-Chinese-native.

Character error

When they ware crossing in to China, at the Chinese border and later when in the interrogation room. Bennie Chan (Jackie Chan) as Chinese could/should have speak Chinese (Even with Hong Kong dialect) to the Chinese border police! He also has spoken mandarin-Chinese in the movie before this scene.
