When Sparks and Heavenly find the grating in the alley, Heavenly crouches down with Sparks as he removes it, but in the next shot, she's standing again.
The Cronicle editor picks up the phone, hears a buzz and says "It's dead".
That is not dead, that's a dial tone. Dead would be silence.
The railroad tank cars they use are several decades too modern for the 1940s era they're trying to depict.
