What Happens Next
katbkaliski28 July 2019
I just want to know what happens next. It has an interesting twist, and possibly a happy ending, but I am curious, did he start taking his meds and undergoing treatment, and if so, how did that look? I appreciated seeing how schizophrenia can impact someone on a day-to-day basis, but it makes me even more intrigued about long term recovery. Also. I thought the neighbor was hysterical.

A Beautiful Mess

It took the first half of this movie to find it's voice, but the second half speaks with perfect clarity and truth. This movie sheds a softer light on mental illness than I've seen befor. It gives those on the inside looking out a sympathetic pat on the back while saying "Yeah, I know..." , and for the rest, a peek inside the closet we hide everything in. The thing I loved most is that it lays out beautifully just how much those people who we can open up to mean to us.

A real mind ****

Warning: Spoilers
This movie will keep you guessing with an ending that will drive you mad not knowing. Is Alex real? On one hand she speaks all the time unlike the other delusions/hallucinations, but she doesn't interact with anyone else the whole movie. There is no proof she's real, and at the end the family acts like no one knocks at the door, then look at Franky like no one's there when he introduces her. You can tell they do this on purpose to keep you guessing and thinking about the movie because when they zoom in at the end and the other hallucinations in the background are no longer there, it's zoomed in to close to see if Alex is really there or not. This drove me crazy, so I went on a hunt for an answer, at least some opinions, but there were none. So for my sanity I'm making my own decisions; Alex is not real. There is no proof through out the whole movie, yet lots of signs that she could not be real.

I hope that gives someone some peace of mind, I know it helped me just writing it lol.
