September 13, 2017, Clarksville, Tennessee: Jordan Michael Hazel shot his wife Keara Hazel in the head with a shotgun and, after leaving the home, returned and then shot his two young children, a 3-year-old-boy named Kayden and a 9-month-old girl named Jaylynn. Jordan Hazel was indicted on 3 charges of premeditated first-degree murder. His legal team argued that he was mentally unstable and not competent to stand trial. He underwent a mental competency hearing and was ruled mentally capable. Jordan pleaded guilty to 3 counts of murder on August 18, 2020. Now age 30, Jordan received a sentence of "life with parole" but must serve 110 years behind bars until he is eligible for parole.
