One of the most boring Punjabi movies
info-484-60305223 September 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I am amazed to see such reviews which are most probably written by people involved in making such junk. Of course the movie might have made 4 times its investment but it is a joke on face of faithful Punjabi movie viewers.

I personally had high expectations from movie particularly from screenplay of bobby sandhu and as it turns out it is easy to review titles of others and give your opinion with buzz words as story and character arc but it is different matter to write one.

The director of this movie is surely to be main cause of such a miserable film. I have ravinder grewal in his songs but in movie he looks less expressive than Honda's asimo robot. Totally blank expressions.

The cinematographer was involved more in making innovative shots than concentrating upon the narrative and its timing. I feel this movie might be even worse than sirphire.

Ravinder grewal has absolutely no direction of path, the two other characters have absolutely no arc to build upon. It seems that the director was first making the movie with an action perspective, and story might have not been more than rawinder grewals enmity with his uncle , and then his getting blamed for death of his cousin and change of heart of uncle in the end.

But wait in between two original movies made staggering box office collections just because they proved sensible comedy is the thing Punjabi's love to watch , the makers of this film just added random subplots to kick in some comedy. And in the end it becomes totally unwatchable collection of amateur stories with nothing to tell.

Box office collection? of course the makers knew even if crap is sold now days you will get all the money in first 3 days creativity and dedication can go to hell

Raula Pai Gaya : A giant step forward for Punjabi cinema
rnb19551 September 2012
Raula Pai Gaya is a hilarious comedy but unlike the present genre of " leave your brains behind" comedies, this allows you to have fun while keeping your values, sensitivities and reason intact ! Each of the many sub-plot smoothly melt into one another. Jaswinder Bhalla as the professor who cannot control his libido even inside the campus has great value for the traditional 'dosti'. The hero Ravinder Grewal holds his position with good acting skills armored with compositions in his own voice of excellent songs which are well interspersed throughout the movie. Sardar Sohi is the Amrish Puri of Punjabi cinema and his acting is superb as the Chacha ji. Binnu Dhillon playing a prankster does a wonderful role and has everyone in splits all the time. And B N Sharma takes the cake with his role as the gullible, half drunk, error-prone assistant to Chacha ji. Maninder Vaily does bulky justice to his character as Ravinder's friend. The Director and story writer Atharv Baluja has taken Punjabi Cinema to a much higher level by bringing in the culture and character of Punjab , the values that still can take on the test of time while interweaving it with the modern times. It is easy to have a comedy that borders on sleaze and double entendre or 'leave your brain behind' stupid spoofs which are a mix of slap stick and 'pure' entertainment – 'pure' meaning pandering to the basest of desires. Raula Pai Gaya remains grounded as a family entertainment which does not make you slip into the baser regions of your self. Moreover the Director gives space to each character to bring out his best while not harming the harmony or the story line– a rare achievement. A wonderful mix of family values, the pulls of the modern times, comedy , romance and Punjabi music. A must watch for the Punjabi buffs !

Excellent movie, definitely more than a 1 time watch

I came across a Raula Pe Gaya's poster in Ludhiana a week back and though I knew who Ravinder Grewal was, I was unsure about one thing- Can this singer pull it off as an actor? Though the actors were experienced, it was a debut for the director- Atharv Baluja. Anyways,I went for the movie with zero expectations and was presently surprised with the way the movie went. It does justice to its genre-comedy. In a series of comical errors, this movie has does have an impact on your funny bone. The songs are really nice and Ravinder has done full justice to his role. Even the special effects and the direction in general has been done very well and it doesn't feel like it has been done by a new comer, so great job Atharv Baluja! The movie works like a story and one doesn't get to know when it ends. The second half specially is the funnier one and really makes you laugh. All in all it is a movie that anyone can see with their family and have loads of fun.

A Must Watch - Great Work
satindersach1 September 2012
Great work done by the cast & crew of Raula Pai Gaya. Ravinderji is a gifted singer & is now one of the few actors in the industry who can act & sing, both so well. The director, Atharv Baluja, has brought life to the Punjabi film industry. The 1st half of the film, shows the life of a typical college student & the deep friendship he shares with 2 other students. the women they fall for, the issues they have with their college professors. The 2nd half of the film is really enjoyable, the story builds up to a point where there is suspense, humor, action & romance. The best part of this beautiful movie is that is sends out a positive message, something which 'masala films' don't always offer. The music is good, a touching song is 'pardesi' which a shot in Hemkunt Sahib. As a regular viewer of Punjabi films, I could not help, but write a review for this one. This one deserves, at least one watch by everyone who has EVEN little interest in Punjabi cinema.

Punjabi Cinema Touches New High
cheemasatnam781 September 2012
To begin with I had very few expectations from this film. But some friends took me to watch it forcefully and I was very pleasantly surprised. It is the first complete masala family Punjabi film I have seen. I am surely going to take my complete family to watch this. It is so balanced.

What I really loved about this film is the storyline. It has been very intelligently crafted to suit the Punjabi Audience. The viewers in Punjab at this time are divided into two, the youth and the family. The greatness of this story is that with the help of multiple story lines it merges the two.

Every character in this film has done Justice to their role. No one can tell that Ravinder Grewal is a debutant. I loved the role of BN Sharma, it is surely his most memorable role up to now.

The film does lag a bit at places, but just when you get that feeling something big happens and you are back inside the screen.

Overall this film is a new genre by itself, something that Punjabi Cinema really needed, not a comedy following the lines of Carry On Jata and Jatt and Juliet, but "FAMILY ENTERTAINER".

I salute the team for doing such a creative job. Well Done.
