- Michelle, Truly, and Talia celebrate Michelle's birthday, the girls sneak out to go see a movie.
- It's Michelle's birthday so Talia comes to visit from Vegas. They have big plans to celebrate Vegas style, while Fanny has a different plan in mind. Truly helps Michelle & Talia celebrate forming a new bond. The girls head to Sasha's house & sneak out to see a movie. Trying to avoid being seen, they stay out a little longer than expected & don't get home before the doors lock & alarm is set. Sasha has an idea on how to get back in the house, but it might get her in even more trouble.—Carrie DeCosta
- Open with the students arriving for practice. The studio is locked and Fanny is nowhere to be found. Michelle finds Truly in her book club, which is discussing "50 Shades of Grey." She pokes fun at Truly for being the youngest person in the club by a wide margin. Truly gives her a note from Fanny that contains the keys.
Michelle opens the studio and calls Fanny, who has taken an impromptu week-long vacation. Fanny wants her to take over for a few days, a plan Michelle doesn't like because her friend Talia will be coming to town for her birthday road trip. Fanny just wants her to keep the studio open during the day.
With Sasha's parents expected to be out of town the girls are planning a movie night out. It is rated R, so Melanie's brother Charlie will be getting the tickets.
Talia arrives at the studio for her visit, bringing with her Michelle's last check from Vegas. Michelle breaks the news they won't be road tripping. The plan is to celebrate by spending the entire check.
Michelle isn't thrilled when Talia wants them to go into Truly's boutique. Talia loves her clothes and the conversation slides towards the plans for Michelle's birthday. Truly desperately wants to hang out with them, eventually getting her wish by pointing out Michelle's speech about the age of Truly's friends.
Boo, Melanie and Ginny get to Sasha's place and hear Sasha's parents in a screaming match. Sasha appears and hustles them upstairs.
The girls prepare for the evening in Sasha's bedroom. Boo is very interested in Charlie. Word is the fight is about Sasha's dad being in love with a man named Timothy. Ginny's boyfriend Josh drops by with provisions for the evening. Sasha returns with word her parents are no longer going out, but she still thinks they'll be able to get out after they go to their separate parts of the house for the night.
Michelle and Talia have given Truly a skimpy dress-makeover for their night out.
Charlie is furious at Melanie for making him wait with their tickets. Inside the theater he's even angrier the place is packed and he and his buddy are not able to sit together. Boo is still smitten. The full theater results in the girls engaging in an elaborate strategy to move people around and get four seats together. Ultimately Sasha, Melanie and Ginny sit together, with Boo sitting next to Charlie.
Melanie, Talia and Truly go the same movie truck as the girls as it seems to be the only "entertainment" in town. They sneak in the back after finding the show is sold out.
Boo explains the film's plot to Charlie and laughs at all his jokes.
To the delight of the other women, Truly pulls out a bottle of booze she snuck into the theater.
Sasha's parents have a house alarm that will activate in about 20 minutes, so the girls need to leave. But they remain in their seats when they notice Michelle (who they deem a potential nark) in the back of the theater. After Michelle leaves, the girls head outside. Boo thanks Charlie for the tickets, and he promptly writes on her hand the number of a girl he was just talking to, asking her to text it to him later since his phone has died.
The drunken women find their car. Michelle thinks they probably should walk or sleep in the vehicle. Truly then admits she's stone sober as she'd been spitting the booze back into the bottle all night. (She's not a drinker.) Truly suggests they hit a 24-hour cupcake ATM in Los Angeles.
The girls don't get home until after the alarm at Sasha's place has turned on. Sasha attempts to jump to a window from atop her mother's car and succeeds only in destroying the convertible's soft-top.
With Truly asleep, Talia compliments Michelle on how cool her life seems to be. Michelle ponders where her life was supposed to have been at this point. Many cupcakes have been consumed.
The girls are waiting in and on the car until 6am, when the house alarm would deactivate. Sasha tells Boo to forget about Charlie. She also says she received an invitation to the Joffrey summer academy. She does intend to go ("I'm not spending my summer here.") Sasha feels so unnoticed by her parents, she thinks she could leave for the academy without being missed. In the house, Sasha finds her father sitting in the living room staring straight ahead. She tells him she wrecked her mother's car and was out all night, then walks upstairs. He says nothing.
