excellent on every level- a story with deep substance and presented with tremendous creative genius

Watching this documentary reminded me of the strength of the human spirit. Under fire and pressure of intense types we witnessed Brook bloom, blossom and fly upwards over pain and hurt to beautiful places of self-discovery and faith towards God. I also thought that the actual film itself was crafted creatively. It held my attention throughout and the ending is fabulous and provocative. Without a doubt, I would recommend this to anyone, anywhere, and at anytime.I also appreciated the effort she put into traveling with her camera to places many people may never get to go. She brought the world to our doorstep. In both dangerous and unstable conditions she showed grace under pressure. And in doing so, showed that even in making this film, she was authentic and real, as well as brave. Each characteristic is one I'm sure that she learned in overcoming the traumatic past that she fell victim to at such a young age. We were blessed to be in the theater to witness such a thing.

Courage and Healing is what this film inspires.

An important story about a woman whose journey is now impacting the lives and futures of the overlooked and voiceless. Healing through Courage is the quintessential description, God Bless her for this documentary! You meet Brook, and as she moves across the water to meet other women who have been abused, you begin to see the transformation happening. So many women hold on to their secrets of sexual abuse, and because of the sickness the secret holds, their lives are on hold. Brook encourages in the most loving way, these women to unravel the pain and find their power outside the wound. Anyone who knows someone who has been sexually abused, needs to guide them to this film!

wonderfully heart rendering story of self discovery that is tremendously moving

When I first heard Brook speak about her film it touched me to the core. She was wonderfully eloquent and moving......and then I saw the movie. The film incites emotions that run the full gamut. Provocative, tough, the film has moments of tragedy balanced with moments of hope and inspiration. But what comes through most is truth. There is never a moment in the movie which did not feel real no matter what was being delineated. Most importantly the movie reveals the horrors and remnants left over from sexual slavery and the attendant abuses derived. Never once do you feel that the story is sensationalized, but told with an integrity that is far to rare. Let Survivor move you.
