Kinda like a clichéd Disney love story..
yourwickedsurprise3 February 2014
Where to be begin? Well, this was one of those movies you happen to watch on netflix. This movie centers around a kid who is a hero, and a thief. Amongst all other things, he's just your average outcast. He moves from town to town never really finding a home. There's very little to this movie. Very simple plot, no surprises at all. It's a matter of when it will end, not how. The acting is very mediocre and lazy. The writing doesn't really grasp your attention. I feel like this movie was made for Disney. (Coincidentally it stars a former Disney star 'Kelsey Chow')If you minus the few gun scenes, this movie would have been stamped with a PG rating. If you're looking for a "live action" thriller, this is not it. It merely advertises as fast action, but it simply does not deliver.

This is a good movie to pass time with...
water-bender726 September 2014
This movie was done well, could have had more in-depth and dynamic characters, but still a good movie. There is a villain in this movie, who has guns and some "back-up" that really spice up the movie. Interesting, and the main characters are really attractive and teenage-looking. There is some action scenes here and there, it's exciting, and makes you smile in the end. It's not cheesy, as you might think. It involves fixing past mistakes and reevaluating your perspective in life, but you gotta deal with someone trying to kill you first and using Pakour skills to run away. Good movie to pass time if you're bored or if you like doing Pakour. Give this movie a shot, and you might like it.

Run when this movie is on
adi_200222 June 2014
Warning: Spoilers
David lives together with his father but they are all the time on the run, they can't stay too much in one place because one of Mike's old friends is on their pursuit and wants to harm him and his son. David often steals jewelry or broken watches. Why? I can't say because even the director doesn't know. After moving to New York he befriends with his peers from high school witch all have the same passion. David even manage to get a date with the sister of one of his colleague. But this complicates when the enemies of his father catch him and kidnaps the girl. Now they must find and save them.

Acting was terrible, the only good part was the soundtrack, those dub-step drops really match with the sequences. Honestly, I rather watch 90 minutes with peoples doing park-our while listen to dub-step instead of seeing this movie.

Pretty Rubbish

Low budget, hammy acting and cringy. Worth watching if you're into parkour and looking for something to watch. However, one watch is enough.

If your a kid who has never seen Gleaming the Cube, just go watch that. If you prefer Parkour try Youtube

Warning: Spoilers
For the most part this is like an ABC Family channel kind of afternoon tween-teen action/adventure kind of movie. There is a lot of really low budget looking film work as they follow the Parkour stunt team around preset skate park like scenarios. There is an entire montage that should just be on Youtube, and not in this movie. All of that said the acting is decent, and the over-all story isn't bad, it just makes no real sense. Eric Roberts should not have seemed so completely neutered, and Lucius was just way too motivated to kill with not enough of a back story that we get to see that would explain his everlasting Love/Hate thing. I Enjoyed most of the movie though as the Father Son dynamic was good, and the school stuff was OK, but just. If I am recommending this movie it is only for you to watch the Parkour, if you are into that sort of thing, but even that looks way over choreographed(especially the in movie stuff, there is about 5 minutes of the actual stunt team showing off, and a couple guys who won an online contest which is a bit better).

Don't see obstacles, see opportunities.
epat22 February 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Run Summary: Don't see obstacles, see opportunities.

Run is primarily a visual homage to parkour, a sort of non-combative martial art developed in the '80s from military obstacle course training. It's all about getting from point A to point B, using nothing but your unassisted body — running, climbing, swinging, vaulting, jumping, rolling & scrabbling on all fours. Nowadays, parkour seems to include very acrobatic front, back & side flips as well, making it quite spectacular to see. Downright jaw-dropping to watch someone use sheer momentum to run along the side of a vertical wall or scramble up meager handholds on the walls of two close-set buildings by springing with seeming ease from one building to another.

Daniel, the protagonist, attends high school by day, but by night he's an accomplished thief who uses parkour to escape from the cops. His father's a former gangster who's been on the run from his ex-boss ever since a very personal falling out many years ago, so he & Daniel never stay long in any one locality & have prearranged escape plans always in place. When they have to move on yet again to keep from getting known, the son makes friends with a crew of parkour enthusiasts at his new high school & wants to stay.

(One false note here when Daniel tells his new friends he learned his skills all by himself & didn't even know there was a name for it. In this Internet age, he never heard of parkour? Aw, c'mon now.)

When Daniel's father & also his new girlfriend are captured by the baddies, it's up to Daniel & his new friends to save them. Not a great movie, plot line pretty predictable, but an entertaining visual introduction to all you ever wanted to know — & then some — about parkour.

Great film and 3D version
peraz7819 January 2014
What shall I say...simply unbelievable!! Without computer effects, finally made by men only (I remember "The Crow"...all computer made!!),here is something real! Considering I suppose the low available budget for realizing such a film, the result is simply great! The plot is well developed, and of course in my opinion the best is the 3D technique.... the film was rewarded with a reason! Well done by all the cast, it's not only for young but also for those who like films for a "new generation"....thanks to the director who portrays such new generation!

I watch a lot of action flicks and RUN is right up there. Its more than a fast paced take of the hero villain, its a testament to cool angles and top editing, mixed in with killer sound tracks and some awesome air that defies the laws of both film making and gravity. Its great to see the use of youth arts and physique, and there is no shortage of screen holding energy. This may be a flick for the younger ones, while the older ones will enjoy a peak into youth culture, all the while its about self esteem and character building. Yeah, its a take on the young hero, and the phase in life when young ones think themselves as invincible, but for us older types, its cool to get a window back into the current if not changing youth. Its back to the normal prescribed action formula of eye for an eye, except, there are new spunks to eye, and walls to climb, so this flick takes us, into new familiar grounds. It celebrates all things youth fashion and artz, while exploring Parkour, is a holistic training discipline using movement that developed from military obstacle course training. Practitioners aim to get from A to B in the most efficient way possible. They do this using only their bodies and their surroundings to propel themselves; furthermore, they try to maintain as much momentum as is possible in a safe manner.

run the movie
carlemma200519 January 2014
In May2013I had the opportunity to assist to the showing of the film "RUN",during the MIFF in Milan, where Simone Bartesaghi was rewarded as best screenplay.I've found the film sympathetic and really drawing well both for its plot and for the scenes and given images even when tension and well interpreted.I particularly liked the father, interpreted by the actor Adrian Pasdar.Unfortunately I could'nt see the 3D version, but I came to know that during the film festival in Los Angeles the film was rewarded for the best director and the best 3D technique.I wish to see as soon as possible in Italy in3D.All the film was missing computer effect and this I appreciated a lot,Finally we have a film where images are made by a man only. My compliments to all cast and to the Parkour..............they Have been great!

Amazing!
mariani-paola19 January 2014
I enjoyed this action thriller movie which has been presented to the MIFF in Milan in May 2013 and it was awarded for Best screenplay. The movie is about the new discipline Parkour (free running), with great action and good plot. From the beginning you find yourself engaged with the storyline, realistic athletic sequences, and cool scenes. The cast is brilliant with an incredible stunt work (parcour) and, most relevant, accomplished without computerized effects. A must-to-see for action lovers and parkour fans. Strange that a film that has won in Italy with an Italian director is not distributed in Italy! Hope it will come soon in Italian theaters in 3D version.
