- Emily and the final six men visit Prague, as the hometown dates loom. Plus, the truth is revealed about Arie's past relationship with one of the show's producers.
- Bachelorette
Welcome to Prague, where Emily walks through the scenic streets and contemplates which man she wants to marry. Meanwhile, the remaining six men meet host Chris, who explains that four will be chosen this week to take Emily back to their families. First up for a one-on-one date: Arie. "I want a hometown so badly," Arie tells the camera. "I want Emily to meet my parents." So the pair head out to tour the historic town. They hold hands. They make out. "I like to kiss Arie," Emily tells the camera. "At the same time, I know something about Arie that he doesn't know I know." And what is that secret?
Cut to host Chris, who explains that Arie, several years ago, used to have a romantic relationship with one of the show's producers. And it gets even more odd. The producer interviews Emily, who says that she feels "stupid" and is "the last to know." The producer assures Emily that the relationship was long, long ago. But Emily still worries that Arie hasn't mentioned that he used to date a woman who has been standing behind the camera the whole time.
Back on the date, Emily grills Arie about being honest. Oblivious, Arie confesses to once having had a tattoo of a girl he used to date (not the producer). That's not the reveal Emily is looking for, however. Then, host Chris interrupts AGAIN. He explains that Emily, Arie and the producer ended up having a long "honest" talk about the entire situation. But guess what? That conversation wasn't recorded! So host Chris assures us that, after this off-camera meeting, Emily is now fine with everything. "She realized her feelings and relationship with Arie weren't affected," Chris explains. Um ... OK.
Back on the date -- hours later, apparently -- Emily and Arie talk about putting it all behind them and proceed to make out. Arie then drops a bomb. "I think I realize that I love you," he says. That makes Emily happy -- and a little bit scared. They make out again as fireworks explode behind them.
The next day, Emily takes John on a one-on-one date. John understands that the date is "make or break" for him as he has been (rightfully) accused of keeping his guard up. Back at the hotel, Chris is on edge. He is furious to hear that Emily and Arie's date went well. He is "sick" of waiting around for alone time Emily and, to make himself feel better, fixes a drink. Poor guy. Back on the John-Emily date, the pair literally "go deeper" by heading underground to find a couch, candles, and drinks waiting. John then explains how his last longtime girlfriend cheated on him after a year with "this doctor dude." That hurt John badly and might start to explain why he is so guarded. Emily is so impressed by this act of soul bearing that the two are soon making out.
Later that night, John returns to the hotel and explains that things went well. This bothers Chris and Sean, who are both on the group date card. Sean then leaves the room to go find Emily. "If I wonder around the streets of Prague and I don't find her, I'm going to be devastated," Sean tells the camera. Luckily, then, Sean does indeed run into Emily. The pair are soon making out. "I love that Sean had the confidence to come out and find me," she tells the camera. They make out some more. And some more. And some more.
The next morning, Emily greets Sean, Chris, and Doug. The latter two have no idea about Sean and Emily's impromptu one-on-one time the previous evening. That's a good thing because Chris is becoming increasingly furious that he is having to share Emily. The bachelorette then takes aside Doug, who is also having trouble opening up. Oddly, he appears frightened to even get physically close to Emily. "From the very first day, I've been waiting for something to happen," Emily says. "I completely understand being a slow mover, but there's no moving at all." Doug then leans in and pecks Emily. It's terribly awkward and also far, far too late. She sends Doug packing. Not surprisingly, he weeps.
Emily then spends alone time with Sean and Chris -- and seemingly has a much stronger connection with the former. So it's no surprise that when it comes time to hand out the rose, Emily delivers the flower to Sean. Says Emily to Chris: "I hope you don't take it personally." Of course. Why would he?
The next morning, Emily and Jef head out for their one-on-one excursion. They head to a puppet shop and Jef buys a princess puppet for lil' Ricki. Emily is touched. She then suggests that they "reenact" their entire relationship with puppets. It mercifully ends with the Jef puppet professing his love to Emily puppet. The puppets kiss, followed by the humans kissing. They then lie down on the floor of an ancient library and talk about a possible future together, agreeing that they wouldn't live together before getting married, but would have kids immediately after getting married. So that's settled.
Later that night, Emily decides that there will be no cocktail party because she has already made up her mind. This worries Chris, who begins to cry while telling the camera that he knows he is the best man for her, but probably messed things up by being so obviously angry on the last group date. Time for Emily to hand out roses. Flowers go to ... Jef ... Arie ... and ... WAIT! Before Emily can hand out the final rose, Chris asks to speak with the bachelorette. The men are shocked, especially John, who is in danger along with Chris.
Chris, meanwhile, apologies like acting for a "boy" on their last date and professes his strong feelings for Emily. He then returns to the rose ceremony, where Emily hands out the final flower to ... Chris. So it's goodbye to John, who appears to be quite furious. Emily explains once again that John was simply too guarded throughout the televised process. He says goodbye without tears.
Next week: Emily meets the parents.
