- After Veronica, the false Marta, falls to her death, presumably a staged suicide, from her hotel John Ross is arrested as sole murder suspect, having been seen leaving there, while her video camera there has disappeared. Vicente Cano, whose goons probably did it after John Ross told him she stole from them, repeats during a jail visit his threat to foreclose on Southfork unless the contractual oil delivery is made in time and has a Latino prison gang beat John Ross into the infirmary. JR interrupts his Vegas operation to visit John Ross secretly. Desperate to save her son, Sue Ellen blackmail the medical examiner to falsely rule Veronica's death a suicide. Alas unaware of that, Christopher made a deal with the Venezuelans, who get the South American rights to his inestimable hydrates extraction technique, which he refused to sell for a fortune to Exxon. The cousins feel buddies again. The baby's ultrasound and Rebecca's clean criminal record motivate Chris to give his marriage another chance. Tommy is back, demanding more then the rings she gave him. Anne promises him a job on her sister's ranch, ignoring he threatens to reveal Becca isn't his sister but an ex.—KGF Vissers

- Open with John Ross and Elena in a police interrogation room. He tells her about going to see Marta and says she was still alive when he left. The detective comes in and points out what seems to be mounting circumstantial evidence. He says nothing about the encounter being taped and is placed under arrest for murder.
In prison John Ross tells Sue Ellen he had an affair with Marta, who eventually go jealous. He doesn't want to get her involved while she's running for governor.
Christopher and Rebecca sit in a car and talk about the babies. They discuss the fact it's her fault the children won't have two parents together. He still feels anger just about every time he looks at her and isn't sure if he'll be able to move past the emotion.
Sherriff Derek tells Bobby about Marta, whose real name is Veronica Martinez. Derek thinks it doesn't look good for John Ross unless her death is ruled a suicide. Christopher walks in and tells Elena he thinks John Ross is getting what he deserves for hanging around a character like Marta. She reminds Christopher he and John Ross were best friends. "That was a long time ago."
Christopher asks Derek to run a background check on his Rebecca.
John Ross references the camera to Vincente, who says he knows nothing about it. When John Ross threatens to come clean, Vincente reminds him running his mouth could be dangerous to his family. He also points out that video can be edited. Vincente is getting impatient about his oil. John Ross says that if he gets out he'll be able to get Vicente the oil "I'm sorry Mr. Ewing, your time is up," Vincente says on his way out.
A representative from Exxon-Mobile pays Christopher a visit. They want exclusive rights to his alternative energy technology. Christopher says he doesn't plan to license his product to anybody at this point and believes it will be critical to the future of his family's business.
Rebecca expresses concern to Ann that her unborn babies are already in trouble. Tommy walks in and Ann tells him she can get him a ranch hand job with a friend in Oklahoma. He leaves to pack his things.
Vincente pays Bobby a visit, telling him about the oil and holding the lien on Suffolk. He says if he doesn't get his oil he's going to take possession of Southfork. Bobby counters that he controls the mineral rights and promises Vincente he'll never get a drop of oil.
Saying they have a "message from Vincente," several prisoners beat the snot out of John Ross. If he doesn't tell his uncle to get Vincente his oil, they say, the next time he'll be killed.
Lou tells Bobby Vincente is legally able to take control of Southfork. His investigators are looking into anything that might prove collusion with Jon Ross and void the contract. Just as Bobby wonders if they should go to the authorities, Ann drops by to tell them the bad news about John Ross.
At the hospital Sue Ellen tells Bobby what happened. Bobby thinks they need to get John Ross out on bail as soon as possible.
Sue Ellen tells Ann she thinks she's failing as a mother.
Christopher is at John Ross' bedside when he wakes up. John Ross tells him Vincente was behind the prison attack and mentions the threat about oil. John Ross tells him about the night with Marta being taped.
Bum calls JR and says he has bad news.
Bobby places flowers at his mother's grave. He promises to do whatever it takes to protect the family.
Bobby tells the family he thinks they have to start pumping oil. Christopher says he has a plan, saying that it's his turn to take care of the family. He says "I'm going to make them an offer they can't refuse."
Sue Ellen tells the medical examiner in charge of Marta's body that his report needs to say she died of suicide. She suggests that when she's governor he could be the Chief Medical Examiner. She also mentions having heard he's been writing a few extra prescriptions.
JR goes to see John Ross in the hospital.
Christopher offers to give Vincente exclusive South American rights to use his new energy technology. Part of the deal would be Vincente turning over the video that exonerates John Ross.
Sue Ellen visits John Ross and tells him she thinks the ME is going to rule Marta's death a suicide. The detective walks in and tells John Ross him he's free to go. The video of him leaving Marta while she was still alive has surfaced.
John Ross returns home and is greets him with a hug from Elena. The ME calls Sue Ellen and tells him Marta had defensive wounds. He is furious because his report will let the real killer walk. Christopher tells John Ross he thinks the two of them are both just trying to make their fathers proud.
Bobby tells Christopher they need to find a way to get Suffolk back. Bobby hands him a letter from Derek.
Sue Ellen tells Ann about bribing the ME. She's upset that she has crossed a line she never thought she'd cross.
Christopher shows Rebecca he had a background check done on her. It was clean, but he apologizes. She's happy because she wants him to trust her. He says he needs an assurance there are no more secrets and she promises him there aren't any
Tommy tells Rebecca he's not leaving. He references the visit from Exxon Mobile and says he's already got a buyer lined up for Christopher's technology. If she doesn't steal the technology for him he's going to tell Christopher everything.
