An apartment building's landlord and/or superintendent cannot legally give law enforcement permission to enter, nor give them access, to a tenant's apartment unless they have a warrant, probable cause or the tenant's consent. So when Barbara's super lets Scola and Tiffany into her apartment any evidence they find would be inadmissible in court as they did not present a warrant nor did they have grounds for probable cause.
