Family estate intrigue from LMN again. This one was all over the map with many plot holes and poorly scripted. Sloane is the estranged sister of a wealthy Vermont family who hears about her stepmother's death and rushes home from Europe to be with her 3 other siblings, Lexi, David and Blake. But all 4 are interested in the reading of the will and Lexi stands to inherit 50% of the estate. That is, until she ends up dead, too! So, it's only the 3 left now. David and Blake aren't really happy to have Sloane around and she has a number of close calls during the movie. Then Blake turns up dead. So 3 deaths so far but David and Sloane are still around and we don't see any cops in the movie!!! Why no police investigations? This, frankly, made the movie far less credible and a letdown!!! Given the process of elimination of actors during the movie, you can figure out who the killer is! But I really didn't care. Skip it!!!

This was a really crappy mystery. Terrible script and story, not at all believable and that's really saying something for the mystery genre.
Very predictable ending, at least in terms of the killer identity. Really a real lack of suspects in this one needed more suspects at the end. Like at least two more.
The ending was probably the worst part of the whole movie. Completely ridiculous. The characters didn't act remotely like you might expect a real person to act. I honestly think my 12 year old could have wrote a more realistic story with a better ending.
I would caution mystery fans to avoid this one. There are much better entries even from lifetime than this one.

Sloane Harrington is a successful concert pianist working in London with her husband Mallik. When she learns of the death of her stepmother, Avery, she returns to the family home in Vermont. But Sloane is unaware of the depth of the family dysfunction and the secrets that await her at the home where she was raised.
Along with her brother David, Sloane has two step-siblings, Lexi and Blake. When the family will is read, it turns out that the wealthy Harrington father cut out all four of his children, leaving his entire estate to his grandchildren.
The fact that all four siblings were shut out of the will does not stop one of them from trying to kill all of the others. The Harrington bodies start dropping like flies with no suspicions on the part of the police.
The filmmakers were successful in creating the environment of a snake pit with a creepy old house and Sloane's three siblings, who are idiosyncratic, to put it mildly.
While the action became excessively melodramatic at the end, the glue that held the film together was the finely tuned set of characters, including the faithful maid Wendy. The film included elements of the horror genre, but it was primarily the story of deeply buried family secrets.
A major theme in the film was the underlying significance of the Harrington name. But due to the selfish nature of the members of this clan and their tawdry actions, the Harrington name needed a new brand that could only be provided by Sloane.

I think this movie was brilliantly written and I especially enjoyed the lead in this movie. I couldn't figure out if it was Wendy or David behind everything! I was shocked to know it was both of them.
I don't know if I had a movie crush on David, but I didn't want to see him jump at the end. It would have been nice to see him hug his sister and get back with his wife. Also, did David think he wouldn't be caught once the cases were opened back up? I wish we could see a part 2 to this storyline.
Overall the movie was fantastic. I'm a huge fan of thriller lifetime movies so this was right up my alley. Thanks lifetime!
