Not phony

Helped work on the production and audio for the show it is 100% not scripted or phony the results are all genuine.. It's a great and entertaining show definitely a must watch if you haven't already, I'd give it more then 10 stars if I could do that.. The host and celebrity chefs are very entertaining and make the audience eager and excited to tune in each episode. I highly recommend starting at episode one and watching each in order although the way it's set up as a viewer you are allowed to skip around different episodes without missing any context from a previous installment making a more casual viewing experience.

Phony

So X thinks he/she is there for an audition at Food Network but is really there for a competition against a superstar. The host then goes on into the New York streets to find judges.

So what do you believe so far? Then it turns out X has to get one of the six judges' votes to win a prize.

A total stranger in a vast kitchen, X always knows where everything is and how everything works. Then when it comes to counting the votes we never see, the first several are ALWAYS for the superstar as the fake countdown goes on. Some win; some don't.

All the superstars feign surprise that the judges are just people off the street. Yeah, right. Everything about this one is PHONY.

Nice show

Warning: Spoilers
Good idea for a competition show, which for the most part has been done to death by the Food Network. I watched it for the first time last night. Eddie Jackson is a good host, and it's actually nice to see a new show that isn't hosted by Bobby Flay or Guy Fieri.

Only thing I would change is have some actual judges doing the tasting at the end, instead of random people you pick off the street. The Food Network has plenty of personalities that could do this job, since they give every new show that comes along to the same 3 or 4 people.

Other than that,I like this show. Considering the contestant only has to get one vote to win, it's pretty good.
