Want to like it

I do enjoy these types of shows and this one isn't bad other than the narrator....she is absolutely annoying to the point when I hear her start to talk I have to mute it. Lately I've been watching with CC on and just keep it muted the whole time. Please, as you can see from almost all reviews, get rid of her!

Not as bad as the reviews say
Adirondack21 January 2023
Unfortunately, the majority of the viewers know as much about psychology that everyone should know. The show brings up movies, music, TV, games, but not to blame them for the killers' actions. Everyone is affected differently by different things. If you have prolonged anger and depression in your life, and you start listening to death metal and watching horror movies, THEN you may well wind up being a killer. Everyone starts out with different mental strengths and weaknesses. Whoever starts out with just the right weaknesses, you had better hope that they don't get drawn to watching or listening to these things that it may sound like this show blames. That does include the occult, Ouija boards, witchcraft and the like. It's not uncommon for people who get into those things to end up killing at least one person, as research can show you.

And as far as the narration goes, the IMDB cast list shows who has narrated. They are not little girls. I wouldn't want any little daughter or niece of mine narrating a show like this. Some adult women can imitate a child's voice very well. Some have a natural little girl sounding voice. A famous example (especially for horror fans) is the late actress Zelda Rubenstein, famous for playing Tangina, the spiritualist in the 1980's Poltergeist movie franchise. Of course, she was a "little person"- many of them have higher voices as adults. But guess what: her voiced added a little creepiness to the movies, and the narrator voice of this show. I thought of Miss Rubenstein right away when I first heard this narration, but she died the year before this show started.

So you might choose to think the narrator voice is inappropriate because it sounds like a little girl, but it's not one. You may choose to is like the choice of voice sound, but I can see both how some viewers can find it tacky while some others may find it creepy and either dislike it or welcome it for that reason. Not having seen many episodes yet, It has kind of grown on me and you may need to let it grow on you. You may also view it as weird, but you might be welcoming of weirdness.. I like weirdness. Bring it on!

And this show is pretty good too. I'd recommend checking it out with the thing I said in mind.

Cannot stand the French Psychologist
cwestwoman16 April 2019
In all of Canada, is there not a psychologist that speaks English. This guy has to have everything translated. It's nerve wracking while trying to watch the show.

Ridiculous
nyarlathotep-2950011 June 2017
OK, the re-enactments are done somewhat well, but why does it seem every "authority" they interview blames music (especially Metal), movies, and Hollywood for the crimes these maniacs have done? If you want to blame someone, how about the killers? I have been into horror and metal since 1982 and I have yet to commit a crime more serious than skateboarding in public. Seems to me the producers have an agenda here, and that's not how documentary style programming should be. State the facts, leave your agenda out of it.

The most irritating voice ever
cokdeliydybehjpam18 May 2017
I like this show but I have stopped watching because of the most irritating voice of the narrator. It is stupid to have a child like voice in what is a most serious issue. I'll start watching again when shes gone. How can you possibly think that it is normal for a child like voice to be appropriate for Killer Kids.

Only Season 1 is Killer Kids
sjpani-021235 November 2017
I consider only the first season, the one with the male narrator, the ONLY season of "Killer Kids". What came afterward was NOT "Killer Kids". It's just like with the TV show "Unusual Suspects". It's so different now (different narrator, graphics, and directing style), it doesn't feel like the same show.

I like the original "Killer Kids" because it shows that other countries and nations, like Canada and Europe, are not immune to crime, especially crimes committed by teenagers and young adults.

HATE the little girl narrator
addictedstingraycity28 April 2017
Truly, I'd have given this show a MUCH higher rating had it not been for the exceedingly irritating voice of that little girl narrator. I get the reason why she was used, but it was a big mistake. Her stupid child voice was a major reason why I stopped viewing this program, as interesting as the topic was. Bring the series back, but without her!

Narrator Voice is So Wrong for Show
steenachristine12 September 2019
I'm going to try and be kind by first saying that the narrator is doing the job she got cadt for. It stops there. The narrator sounds like a child reading from a 2nd grade reader. It is completely distracting and annoying during this show. That voice does nothing to lend drama or terrifying urgency to the crimes being committed. Dear Narrator, you can keep your voiceover job but for a different kind of show, like children's storytelling maybe. The show itself is fine, pretty scary to see that much anger or hatred lead to murder. For now I keep watching to a minimum, until the female voice is replaced.

Warning: Spoilers
I always enjoyed this show and watched it when it 1st began, but, now, the eerie, annoying little girl voice doing the narrating of each show makes the tackiness grow& me cringe. So weird, & inappropriate, besides irritating. Takes away from the program, and creeps me out, besides. Please stop.

The narrator voice
tgilyard-3710419 September 2016
The narrator voice to this show is annoying..It needs someone with a more authoritative masculine voice..The soft irritating voice of the narrator causes me not to watch the show..The voice of the little girl or woman narrating the show makes my skin crawl..Not giving the show the driving force it needs to succeed.. narrator is creepy

I don't understand why the voice of a seemingly very young female is used as the narrator. Not natural.

Would be interesting if it were really a documentary but it's not
horrorismyhome11 January 2019
I'm only a few minutes in and already they've blamed weed, heavy metal music, horror movies, and magic.

A straight documentary would be really interesting, but this is all about the devil and demonology as an explanation for why kids kill.

Thw psychology of kids who kill is interesting, but this is really ridiculous. It just stokes fears about people who like a particular kind of music or dress in black. Just a bunch of religious morality warnings.

Horror films create killers
jenniferbeaune27 January 2019
I'm SORRY, but watching horror films and listening to dark movies is not a sure-fire indication that someone will become a killer. This show is beyond ridiculous in its accusations. What a joke.

Creepy narration is highly annoying!
elektrolad21 May 2020
Bad enough they have a child's voice for narration, but a grown woman using a little girl voice is worse. Misty Lee was born in 1976... For the heinous nature of these crimes a childlike voice is simply creepy. Maybe that's what the producers wanted. IDK I would have had a cutoff age at 12. After that they are teens. There could have been a Killer Teens show as well. I'd prefer no kids or teens kill anyone, but I guess it happens.

This is an additional amount of drama added. Kids aren't very clever and use whatever weapon is handy to commit the murder. I can't imagine kids putting much planning into the crimes. So it would be more spur of the moment. Sure you could have a lot of rage for someone and even wish them harm or think what might happen if you dropped an anvil on their head. Yes, it's gonna kill them, but you're not gonna stick around cause not much else is gonna happen. Showing the neighbor kids what they've done isn't a good idea cause one of them will spill the beans. So what happens now? They run away or hide out. Eventually they get caught. In between building the drama we're treated to close up shots of the victim or the killer. Over and over. Someone must have thought this was a good idea. It sure is a time waster. The producers used a horrible act to fill 20 minutes when you could have told the story in 15. They need something to pad the show. The real crimes here are a baby-voiced narrator and whomever ran off with a large portion of the alleged $500,000cad budget? They certainly failed to pass much on to the writers. I'm sure the visual effects people got a nice chunk until other members of the production staff saw what they did and decided they could do it themselves. (Note to anyone in a graphics or visual position. Your input is valuable. Your work can be expensive. The boss thinks you are not necessary and anyone can do it. A lot of people can, but they don't have your talent and their sad attempt will show it. So keep a little of your knowledge hidden. If someone starts looking over your shoulder pull up another screen to confuse them.) Killer Kids is no longer in production. I don't know what all involved are now doing. Kids are still killing. More and more tv channels are coming online and they need content. Nobody wants to see Kind Kids or Nice Nans. They want Decapitated Dads or Murdering Mom on Monday.

Music too loud!
jandafranks21 June 2021
I like the show, but have trouble hearing the words because the music is too loud. This happens on a lot of crime shows. Please turn it down when someone is speaking. Thank you! And yes the narrator is weird!

Horrible narrator
cbeltway14 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Two people should be immediately fired from the show. First, the horrible baby sounding narrator. I get the impression she is talking to a group of elementary school children. Secondly, whoever hired the voiceover talent should start looking for another job. The voice is awfully irritating and I will find another crime show to watch.

I agree, narrator is awful
craiginnyc4 March 2022
How did this narrator get voice-over work? No 35-year-old woman should sound like she's 10. Woefully miscast and annoying. Ruins otherwise interesting episodes.

Cannot watch
xander8919 July 2021
This shows interesting enough. The reenactments are done pretty well. You can tell the show had a reasonable budget not to cheesy, as these shows tend to be. The problem I have it the narrators voice, the little girl.. it makes the whole show extremely hard to watch and just dose not fit in with the show. Or what's going on it's just stupid. Seriously whoever picked this child's voice needs to be fired, so inappropriate unnecessary. For now I don't watch because this reason. Please get new narrator and I'll change my vote and watch show.

no wonder it keeps happening
l_danielle9 June 2022
Wow, it's hard to watch. First episode shows adoptive parents that turn two helpless children into straight up sociopaths and then blame the kids. One commenter says that being constantly beat must not be too awful because at least they had a pool, and another downplays their monstrous upbringing to the point that he says the murders were about homework and girlfriends. I don't think I've ever watched a show that so clearly demonstrates how entirely horrific authorities continue to respond to cases like this. It's disgusting to see in 2022. It would have been nice to get some less draconian commentators.

I haven't seen this sooo...ya...lol, do what you will with that information. But if what jenniferbeaune said is what they said in this program? Then this program definitively has some shaky foundations. Bc for one million percent sure: watching horror movies, watching/listening to other dark stuff, or playing violent video games as a young'n abbbbsolutely for sure neither indicates that you're going to be a killer or violent in some way as an adult; nor does increase your chances of being like that. So if this show or movie or whatever even hints that that's the case, it's realllly reaching.

Informative but VERY Exploitative!
larsmpendleton25 October 2023
The re-enactments are gratuitously gruesome and even show perpetrators attacking small innocent children. Like many others here I am not a fan of the little girl sounding narrator. Very tacky! Some of the 'experts' seem to do little more than attempt to justify the perverse actions taken by these killer kids. It's unlikely that these so called forensic psychologists and other pundits would retain such overly compassionate opinions about these sociopaths if they themselves were ever directly or indirectly victims of them. On the bright side, the information provided about the cases mostly aligns with what's available through other sources. The acting is decent and about what you would expect. All and all it's watchable, but realize you're basically watching horror movie style slasher scenes packaged as true crime. Not exactly Dateline or Forensic Files quality.

Ok so it's not just me with this voice
jmgimbel23 August 2022
There's a reason Dateline's Keith Morrison is beloved. His mellifluous voice and gentle candor let us know murder is serious. I couldn't get into this because of the seriously miscalculated narration. No one wants to hear that baby talk nonsense ever, much less regarding children who kill?

All over the place
On_The_Mark27 August 2022
I've only seen episodes from the first season so I don't know what they're talking about here with the "little girl narrator."

This is another crime show that is mostly filled with reenactments. You get a couple of the victim's relatives and people who prosecuted the criminals. Problem is besides over done reenactments (which of course are all low budget - I love the autopsy room - which is just three guys wearing white smocks in a blank room and a table) is the episodes are all over the place.

I was watching and it was a murder that took place in 1992 and all of a sudden they're talking about some guy walking in the forest in 1981 and I'm trying to figure out what I missed and this is how the episodes are done. They bounce all over between three murders. It's a terrible format and it took me a while to catch on, especially since it's hard to tell the actors apart from the segments.

One episode had little "animated" edits intercut into the reenactments, it was absolutely horrid. The show gets pretty clinical at times and can be boring. If it was straight forward and each crime was played out instead of jumping back and forth it might be a little more interesting but there's some bad editing (the animation - oof!!). Sometimes the folks in England can be hard to understand too.

Won't be watching the second season.

Narrator is awful
sgypsyhicks23 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The series looks interesting but the girl narrator is so irritating I can't watch it. Try using a males voice like Bill Curtis, or someone with a non child females voice.
