Die Windpomp is an endearing, humorous and quirky fantasy love story that revolves around a summer romance in a retirement village between 20 year old Hendri and Margot, with an unexpected twist.

The story is about a 20-year-old boy, Hendri, who arrives on the doorstep of his senile, reclusive grandfather in a retirement village. His world is soon infested by garden ornaments, bingo nights, and odd "old ballie" behavior. While sneaking a late-night cigarette, Hendri follows five silhouetted figures into the forest on the outskirts of the small town and finds more than he expected.—Etienne Fourie

Die Windpomp (The Windmill) is a quirky love story about 20-year-old Hendri, who arrives on the doorstep of an oddly-familiar retirement village to live with his grandfather. He gets taken under the wing of an elderly neighbor who forces him to take regular baths at her house for some odd reason. One night, Hendri follows some figures into a forest and finds a peculiar sight, elderly folks diving into a dam, a windmill rising from its moonlit center. A beautiful young girl appears from amongst the trees in the darkness and introduces herself as Margot. Hendri is immediately smitten with this mysterious girl. But--who is she?—Anonymous
