In the Asterix-and-Obelix-song the characters sing that they live in the village Kleinbonum. However in the original comics Kleinbonum (in the Belgium original the name is Petitbonum) is actually one of the guarding roman camps nearby. The Gaul village has no name there and is just called "Gaul Village).
The character selection for this TV play is based on the survey of the German TV guide magazine "Hörzu" from 1983, on the favorite characters for children. These chosen characters are portrayed in this play.
The short scenes with the different characters are combined with a loose plot that is inspired by "Alice in Wonderland" by Lewis Carroll. Gustl Bayrhammer is replacing Alice who is visiting famous characters like Snow White, Pinnocchio, Asterix and Obelix etc. instead of characters like the Caterpillar, the Heart Queen or the White Rabbit.
Edgar Ott, who performed the "Elefanten-Rap", was also the fist voice actor to perform as the character "Benjamin Blümchen". Hwoever the elephant in this show doesn't look like the real Benjamin Blümchen from the TV show or the audio plays.
One of the signs on the rainbow that is sprayed by Max and Moritz is "DÖF". DÖF is a famous German-Austrian band from the 80s, which wrote the Max-and-Moritz-song "Das allerschönste Gefühl" and also performed in this TV special.
