Where did Italian horror talents go?

There was a time when Italian horror flicks were milestones. A movie like "La casa nel vento dei morti" (roughly translated: The house of dead's wind") is a shame for an entire country, a complete failure that appears to be a paranormal story but is basically a boring and uninspired version of Frontières. 3/4 of the running time of the movie are spent showing useless conversations and a never ending escape by three criminals in the post-WWII period. They robbed a postal office and are now on the run. They'll end up (whoah! surprise!) in a creepy house where some women live and host guests. If there was a bottom10 list for Italian horror movies, La casa nel vento dei morti would rule it for centuries. What a shame.
