- Emily is showing Nolan the footage from her father that indicates Charlie is her half-sister. She tells him she's going to use the tape to submarine Victoria's divorce, and frame Amanda to get her out of the picture.
Daniel gives Victoria and Huntley inside information about Conrad's business. She thinks that this means he doesn't "have to" marry Emily. Daniel is upset she doesn't respect his happiness.
Emily takes Amanda to breakfast after she returns from Atlantic City. She tells Amanda that she needs to lay low on the heels of Treadwell's house burning down. But Amanda has no interest in leaving town.
Conrad asks Declan if he'd like to join Charlie at her prep school. If he can get his grades up and pass the entrance examine Conrad will pay the tuition. Conrad gets an envelope with a note inside that says "open in private."
When Huntley begins to talk about Conrad's shady finances, Conrad shows video of David Clarke talking about Charlotte being the name of his favorite aunt. Conrad's attorney say they will be ordering a paternity test and if Charlie turns out not to be Conrad's daughter, the only way she will avoid public humiliation is to take whatever he gives her in settlement.
Huntley is upset that Victoria didn't tell him everything. She thinks the fire at Treadwell's must have been the work of Amanda.
Conrad takes one of Charlie's hairbrushes out of her room.
Emily goes looking for Amanda and Jack tells her about being summed to the Grayson's place. Emily is realizing how much Jack cares about her.
Victoria confronts Amanda about her recalling an affair with David Clarke. Amanda denies any knowledge of the tape that Conrad has and storms out. When she leaves Huntley appears and sticks a cup she was drinking out of into a plastic bag. Victoria doesn't think Amanda is really David Clarke's daughter and this is her way to prove it. Huntley tells Victoria that preliminary results indicate Conrad is not Charlie's father.
Daniel tells Ashley that he's going to propose to Emily. Ashley doesn't seem enthusiastic.
Conrad tells Huntley he's not to going to tamper with Charlie's trust fund and wants to go to trial. He asks for a private meeting with Victoria where he tells her the choices are to either accept his small divorce offer or have the world think her daughter is related one of the world's most hated men. Ashley has eavesdropped on the porch and overheard this.
Amanda tells Jack about the meeting with Victoria and tells him Emily warned her that it might happen. Nolan takes Amanda aside and tells her not to tell Jack too much.
Conrad tells Charlie he thinks "it's best" if she goes back to live with her mother. He blames his work. When she says she can't stand Victoria, he tells her to grow up.
Daniel proposes to Emily in the middle of a torrential downpour on a boat. She says yes.
Daniel and Emily run inside and tell Victoria the news. She grudgingly says "congratulations."
Ashley complains to Nolan about how rough her life has been, in the process telling both he and Jack that Emily and Daniel are engaged. A shady-looking guy hits on Amanda while she is tending bar.
Daniel tells Conrad about being engaged. Conrad thinks this is part of a scheme, but Daniel assures him that he is in love. Conrad warns him that falling in love doesn't prevent the woman you love from keeping massive secrets. Conrad wants Victoria to tell him what he's talking about.
Charlie comes to Emily's place and tells her that out of nowhere Conrad kicked her out of the house. She tells her Conrad looked at her the way he looks at Victoria. Charlie notices the ring and says she's always wanted a sister.
Huntley tells Victoria the DNA results showed Amanda is definitely the half-sister of Charlie. Victoria is shocked. She then fires him as her attorney.
Jack catches the guy from the bar going through Amanda's stuff in the apartment above the bar. Jack tries to stop him and takes a severe beating.
Nolan goes to see Emily. He tells her about Jack's beating and blames her for what happened.
We see Emily meet with Huntley. He says that Victoria "called in her own guy" and he couldn't control it. It was he that switched the DNA samples for her. He thinks her father is innocent but says he can't be part of this kind of violence.
Emily goes to see Jack. She apologizes to his unconscious body.
Emily meets with Amanda. She tells Amanda that the Graysons framed her father and that they were responsible for the plan going down. She says she's returned to avenge her father's death and take everything away from Victoria and Conrad. She says Victoria hired the guy who beat up Jack and that she needs to save herself. Emily gives her a new cell phone and new fake ID and passport again. She says she'll say good-bye to Jack for her.
Victoria tells Daniel that Conrad isn't Charlie's father. She tells him it is actually David Clarke and she was trying to protect Charlie from the truth. Daniel says "What did he do to you mom?" All she says is that she can't talk about it and begins to cry. Daniel comforts her.
Emily tells Nolan that she needs to "minimize the fallout from what I'm doing." She thinks she needs to regroup, wondering if there is a better way to bury Victoria besides marrying Daniel. She's thinking about giving back the ring.
Declan tells Jack that Amanda is gone. He gives him a note. We see that underneath the bed is an interview tape missed by the thug who had broken in.
Charlie returns to Victoria's house but doesn't want to talk to her mother. Victoria flashes back the night before they are to give their statements. She asks if he'll stay with her that night.
Daniel tells Emily that Charlie's father is the "madman, terrorist" David Clarke. He adds "that bastard forced himself on her." Daniel thinks that Victoria was raped and tells Emily that "if that bastard wasn't rotting in hell I'd track him down and kill him myself." Emily then suggests June for weather, saying she wants to marry into his crazy family "more than ever." She glares up at a watching Victoria on the balcony across the dunes as the episode ends.
