- Sophie is asked by an old accomplice to help his daughter who has fallen victim to Magiq Baby-- a multi-level marketing scheme.
- The crew go after a pyramid scheme run by a husband-and-wife team of grifters. Sophie goes in as a saleswoman, Breanna poses as an accountant, and Harry has to befriend the husband as part of a "brocon" to get close to the man and steal his encryption USB bracelet.—Gislef
- At the company Magiq Baby, Miranda tells the married owners that she can't keep up with sales and is going into debt. They try to convince her to invest, but she tells them that she can't afford it and that she's pregnant. They congratulate her and say that now she can work from home, but Miranda says that she can't anymore. The owners, Richard and Debra Prosper, tell Miranda that Baby Magiq might not be right for Miranda and go to set up Miranda's returns. Miranda wonders if they think that she's a failure, and they assure her that matters is what she thinks of herself. Miranda insists that she can do it and the Prospers agree, smile, and take her friend, telling her that she's family.
Eliot and Sophie are at a warehouse recovering diamonds from smuggles, and Sophie's old "co-conspirator" Billy the Gent drops in. Billy heard that Sophie is still in the game, and Sophie assures him that she doesn't do that kind of work anymore. He says that it's about his daughter, Miranda, and she's in deep with a scam team, the Prospers. Sophie has heard of Magiq Baby, and Billy tells her that Miranda is broke and on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Billy has heard from Arthur that Sophie is a "do-gooder" now, and reminds Sophie that he went to prison for her before leaving. Eliot tells Sophie that he doesn't trust Billy, but Sophie tells Eliot that she has a plan and Breanna is going to hate it.
Breanna has soon infiltrated Magiq Baby as an accountant. Sophie is in contact with her via the comms, and has confirmed that Debra is the face of the company while her husband Richard has run previous scams of a similar nature Breanna figures she can put her "yes" virus in the company's computers to bankrupt it. The rest of the crew is at the bar with Sophie, while Breanna panics when Debra is broadcasting a company-wide "baby talk".
Breanna tells her co-worker Ronald that she doesn't have any data to enter, and Ronald gives her the necessary security access so she can do her job. It's never occurred to Ronald that the security system is set up like a pyramid, with the Prospers at the top. Breanna warns the crew that she needs the top-level security access or she can't embed her virus. Sophie finds the4 Prospers holding a Diamond Mama Bash for the elite sellers, and has Breanna create Sophie a cover as a seller so she can get close to the Prospers, have Parker steal Richard's encryption key, and get it to Breanna to implant her virus. According to the advertising photos, Richard doesn't wear his key, so Sophie, Parker, and Eliot figure they need to run a "bromcon", and get Harry close to Richard.
Eliot and Parker give Harry Eliot's sports car to pull off the con, and Harry is duly impressed. Parker assures Eliot that it has to be Harry, because he's much less manly than Eliot and thus less intimidating. Harry gets in the car, making "vrooming" noises, and Eliot is not amused.
Sophie goes to the bash and gets seated, while Parker works as a waitress. The top sellers talk about "rebirth", and Breanna tells Sophie that "rebirth" is when a seller is demoted back down to the lowest security level. Richard takes the stage and gives the sellers a pep talk, and calls up Debra. Miranda is there, and Sophie tells Parker to keep an eye on her.
Richard gets a text that there's a disturbance in the parking lot and goes to check it out. Harry is there working on "his" car and charms Richard, and Parker tells Harry to flirt with Richard. Parker talks Harry through the bromcon, and Harry asks Richard if he wants to take the car for a spin, and Richard agrees.
Sophie approaches Debra and gushes over her, claiming she's from the UK. Debra says that she can pick up a hint of a Boston accent in Sophie's voice, then calls the attention of all the "mamas" to Sophie and says that she's going to tell them the company's five "magiq keys" that all mamas should know by heart. Sophie doesn't, and Breanna looks them up rather than wait, Sophie improvises about how the five steps aren't relevant, and the program is about family and enrichment. She gets the mamas to recite the steps, and they get through the first two. Debra tells Sophie to tell them the rest, and she does reciting the basic steps of most self-help manuals. Once the applause dies down, Debra congratulates Sophie on winging it, but tells her that faking it won't work at Magiq Baby. Sophie warns the others that Debra is good and they're going to have to step up their game.
Breanna uses Ronald's Sapphire access but it's an assembly of other programs and she still can't get to Diamond level. Ronald drops in on Breanna and wonders if what the company is doing is a pyramid scheme, but doesn't think they're doing anything crooked.
At the bash, Sophie has Parker use a serving bowl under her shirt to fake a pregnancy. Sophie offers to "recruit" Parker, catching Debra's attention. Once Parker leaves, Debra compliments Sophie on her sales numbers. She then calls over Miranda and the other mamas, gets everyone to applaud Miranda who overcame the negativity in her life, and then asks Sophie what they can do to help Miranda reach her full potential. Sophie suggests a "rebirth" and Debra agrees, but Miranda isn't happy on being sent back.
Once an upset Miranda walks off, Debra tells Sophie that she would have done the same and invites Sophie up to her penthouse so they can chat. Sophie tells Parker to check on Miranda, and she did what she had to do.
Parker goes over to Miranda and tries to comfort her. Miranda says that she doesn't think she can keep being a mama, as she's pregnant and can't handle everything falling apart. Parker tells Miranda that she and everyone else in the room is a loser, and only one percent of people in similar positions make money. Miranda is impressed and Parker gives her Miranda her torn-off sleeve as she goes.
Eliot goes to see Billy, who is running a con out of a warehouse, and tells Billy to tell him everything that happened between Sophie, Arthur, Billy, and everyone else.
Richard takes Harry to his office and Parker tells Harry that it's time for Step Three, "The Hook". Harry talks about his dead father, and suggests they drink and smoke. Richard agrees and does the honors, and gets them from his combination wall safe. Harry tells Parker, who is thrilled at the challenge and heads there.
Billy tells Eliot what happened, and that he doesn't have a beef with Sophie. Someone had to take the heat when the con fell through, and Sophie threw Arthur under the bus. Billy was going down regardless but Sophie might have convinced someone to spare Arthur and didn't. Eliot doesn't believe it, but Arthur says that he also knew Sophie for a long time and she's a professional liar.
Sophie and several of the other high-ranking mamas meet with Debra and have tea, and Debra talks about Richard. Debra asks how Magiq Baby came into Sophie's life, and Sophie spins a story about a boyfriend dumping her. Debra tells her that it's a good story, and says that she has a knack for detecting lies. Sophie admits that Debra is right, and asks Sophie for the truth about the man in her life who changed things for her.
Ronald confronts about his doubts about Magiq Baby and she gets him to talk about how they have to talk to the Prospers to get out of the company, and all returns are done by Debra's computer.
Parker crawls through the vents to Richard's office, and tells Harry to clear Richard out. Richard finally takes Harry upstairs, and Parker drops in and goes to work on the safe. She gets the safe open but doesn't find an encryption bracelet.
Upstairs, Richard takes Harry to his man cave, takes out fighting gear, and tells Harry that as men they should fight. Harry spots the bracelet in a case, and tells the others, while he has no choice but to fight with Richard.
Sophie tells Debra and the mamas the truth about her relationship with Nate, and how they were both planners but Nate messed it up by dying. Now it's her responsibility to take care of her "family", and she has to be there for them. Parker, Harry, and Breanna listen in via the comms, Richard hits Harry's shield and knocks his earbud out, and sees it. Harry claims that it's his hearing aid.
Debra says that Sophie's story smells like the truth, and asks Sophie if it felt good getting the truth out. Sophie admits that it did, and Debra asks the mamas to give them some privacy. Once they're alone, Debra tells Sophie that she doesn't have to hold anything back.
Parker sneaks out of Richard's office and a security guard sees her and asks why she's there. The thief lies not very well, but Miranda shows up and covers for Parker.
Richard picks up the earbud and hears Parker at the other end, talking. Realizing that it's not a hearing aid, he pulls out a real sword and attacks Harry. Breanna is listening, disappointed that she got stuck in a cubicle while Harry got to sword fight. Ronald runs past with his trumpet, figuring there's no pyramid schemes in jazz.
Richard disarms Harry, and Harry manages to knock him down with his shield. He runs and Harry goes after him.
Sophie wonders what Debra wants from her, and Debra says that Sophie told her "a" truth but not "the" truth, the one that keeps Sophie up at night. She wants Sophie to tell her something she has a lot of guilt about. Without mentioning names, Sophie talks about how Arthur and how he trust her, and she abandoned him and take care of herself. She admits that a good person would have been haunted by what she did, but she isn't haunted by it and moved on. Debra knows Sophie is telling the truth.
Sophie tells Debra that she can also detect when someone is telling the truth, and Debra has been keeping people down and sucking them dry.
Debra smugly says that she knew there was something off about Sophie, and that's why she brought her up to the penthouse. She boasts that the people holding her up won't let her fall, and they want Debra to tell them what to do and what to think. Debra says that they're going to see how much pressure Sophie can take and yells for security.
Nobody comes, and Sophie smiles. Debra wonders why she's smiling. Sophie points out that it's past time for Debra's "Baby Talk", and Debra's boast just went out. She checks her phone and discovers the mamas are sending out texts criticizing her. Debra yells for Richard, who runs in and plugs in his keys. Breanna come in behind him and thanks him for his support: while Robert and Harry were fighting, Breanna snuck into the mancave and put the Yes Virus on the encryption key.
Parker and Miranda come in and stop the Prospers from getting to their helicopter to escape. Earlier, Parker tased the security guard, and tells Richard that she took all the gold bars from his safe. Harry runs in and tells the Prospers that all their assets are going to be liquidated. He also called to have all of Richard's things hauled off and sold. Breanna says that she also got proof from the virus that the Prospers were running a pyramid scheme, and she told the Department of Justice. The DOJ SUVs pull up and Sophie tells Debra to think of the experience as a rebirth. Debra figures that person Sophie said she abandoned was a daughter. Sophie leaves without comment.
Later at the bar, Breanna tells Harry and Parker that after the virus kicked in, all of the mamas got a bonus. Parker is still wearing the bowl to fake a pregnancy, happy that she has a place to hide snacks. Ronald is outside with a street band playing jazz, and he's pretty good.
Billy comes back to his lair and finds Sophie waiting for him. Eliot is also there, and points out that Billy was speaking Uzbek on the phone when Eliot came in earlier. There was a land deed to Uzbek land in Richard's safe. When Billy says someone thought the land would be better as a runway, Sophie figures that Billy is working for Ramsey, and Ramsey is someone she hoped and thought was dead.
