This episode was pretty decent, in my opinion. Even when Muscle Man has an important role on it, at least it wasn't the center of all of the attention, unlike in disappointing chapters like "Trucker Hall of Fame" or "Prankless".
Instead of that, "Dead at Eight" focus on the efforts done by Mordecai and Rigby to save him from Death, and that worked much better, allowing the viewers to know the fearsome (but funny)Death's son, Thomas the Demon(Not to be confused with the new character introduced in the fourth season of the series) The plot and the supernatural elements from "Dead at Eight" reminded me animated shows like "The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy" and some of The Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror episodes, resulting in a more than worth-watching episode.
