Costume Quest is a game that is aimed at a younger audience. I have this game on Epic Games, and I tried it out so that I could watch its animated show on Prime Video. And after trying it for half an hour I became addiced to it.
The game is very creative and colourful. I have completed the main quest using Reynold and as of when this review is written, I'm trying out the Grubbins on Ice DLC. And having done that I can now finally review it. The game is in the form of a JRPG, where the player gets to wear a costume that has been made from the materials that they have collected. Each costume has their own way of performing basic attacks and does different things on special attacks.
The things I didn't like about the game is that it has a very slow and confusing start. In the beginning I didn't even know what I was supposed to do because of how many things were going on around me. I didn't know the tasks that were being spoken were supposed to be fulfilled in a specific order. I was trying to perform one task without knowing I couldn't do it (the teacher one, in case you're wondering). Then Big Bones also made a sudden appearance instead of gradually explaining who or what he is.
Other than that Costume Quest is a must play for family audience or for households where there are small children. In spite of being more than 10 years old at the time of writing this, it's still holds up against today's games.
