- Barry feels guilty for what happened to Caitlin; Mark comes up with a plan that makes everyone skeptical; Red Death looms in Central City and commands that failure is not an option; old friends pay an unexpected visit to S.T.A.R. Labs.
- A hard rain comes to Central City, and a new Snow and Mark come to STAR seeking help from Team Flash to use the CRC to bring Caitlin back. Meanwhile, Hartley Rathaway comes to the team asking for help after a new Fiddler targets him at his club,—Gislef
- Barry calls the others into the lounge to meet the "new" Caitlin, and she says that it's a long and confusing story. Mark comes to the newcomers' side and she and he say that the others can call her Snow. He explains that he and Caitlin built a machine that activated Frost's mind in Caitlin's body. Something went wrong and Snow came out instead, and she doesn't know who she really is, but wants to find out as much as the rest of them do. Mark explains that Snow is a blank slate with no memories. Barry asks Mark what happened to Caitlin, and Mark says that Caitlin is dead, but he has a plan to bring her back.
Mark figures they can use the CRC device he and Caitlin built, with a stable power source provided by Team Flash, to reverse the process that created Snow and bring Caitlin back. Barry is reluctant, but he eventually gives in and the team goes to work. Once they're alone, Mark tells Snow that it's going better than they planned. He notices that Snow is hesitant, and he tells her that it's what Caitlin wanted, and when they'll done, they'll have Frost back.
Chester and Allegra go to work. Allegra figures the whole thing is nuts, and Chester talks about everything else that has happened recently. Allegra doesn't want to talk about the kiss they shared, and says that they should focus on the current situation first, and then when it's over they'll talk about them. Chester agrees and goes back to work.
Later, Cecile tells Joe what happened with Caitlin. She admits that she's not okay with it, and that Caitlin isn't their only problem. Joe explains that the reason he said they should leave Central City is he's worried that the stronger her abilities become, the more it puts her on the front lines and the more danger she's in. He admits that their family can't handle losing her. Cecile tells Joe that she understands, but wonders how she can choose between their family and the greater good of Central City. She wonders what they're supposed to do.
At their apartment, Barry and Iris talk about how the new situation has changed their babymoon plans. Barry remembers how he destroyed all of Caitlin's equipment with a Speed Force power surge, and insists that Mark's plan has to work.
At the Krakatoa Club, owner Harley Rathaway looks out of the crowd. His lover Roderick Smith comes over and they kiss, and then Harley leaves. A woman picks up her fiddle case and follows Harley out, and she steps out of him with her fiddle in her hands. She uses the fiddle to unleash a blast of sound at him, shattering the windshields in the parking lot. Hartley takes cover behind a car, and he steps out, preps the blasts on his wrist, and asks what she wants. She says that she's the Fiddler, and the two of them fire blasts of sound that knock them back when the two blasts collide.
Fiddler recovers first and walks forward, and Hartley asks why she's attacking him. She says that he has something she needs, and Hartley flies off on a wave of sound. Roderick and the club goers come out, and Fiddler tells Roderick to tell Hartley that she'll be back. She teleports away, and Roderick yells to Hartley but gets no response.
At STAR, Snow stands in a pod while Mark works with Barry, Chester, and Iris in an adjoining monitor chamber. They close the pod Snow is in and fill it with cryogenic gas. There's feedback and Barry gets Snow out of the pod. Mark says that they can't interrupt the process, but the others point out that Barry is saving Snow's life. Snow says that Mark said it would bring "them" back, and Iris wonders what she means. Barry realizes that she means Frost as well as Caitlin, and the whole thing is Mark's attempt to bring Frost back. Mark figures that it should have brought both women back, and Chester figures that trying to bring them both back is what caused the malfunction. Mark insists that he can't trust any of them and that's why he lied, particularly Barry, and that's why he and Caitlin built the CRC in secret. Caitlin knew that Barry would try to stop her again, and he's not going to give up on Frost even if the rest of them did, and never will.
Mark walks out in frustration, and an intruder alarm goes out. Flash goes to the medbay, and finds Hartley there having a heart attack from the sound waves interfering with his heart. He talks Barry through using a sonic cuff in storage to stabilize his heart, and Hartley warns the cuff is a patch, not a cure. Iris come sin Hartley explains that Fiddler attacked him and Iris identifies her from the files. Hartley, bored, lies down and goes to sleep.
At the docks in a warehouse, Fiddler yells that the upgrade didn't work. Red Death appears, hits Fiddler with an energy blast, tells her failure is not an option, and to bring him what he wants or she'll die. Fiddler agree and apologizes, and Red Death disappears.
Barry find Mark drinking at the bar and sits down with him, and says that he just wants to talk. He tells Mark that he screwed up, and he knows Mark did it because he loves Frost. Sometimes when they love someone like that, they do the wrong things for the right reasons. He's done the same thing, and understands why Mark lied. Barry says that Mark is part of the team now, and they have his back, and he needs to have there's. If he lets them in, they work together and do the impossible. However, they have to stick together. Barry gets a text and says that they have to go right now.
The two men go to STAR, and Chester tells them that Mark's plan was never going to work. They need endogenous neural imprints to make it work. Mark wonders where they're going to find a complete map of Caitlin's mind, and Iris suggests Thomas Snow. Thomas attached Caitlin's consciousness to Frost when Caitlin was a child. The full download is at Tannhauser Labs, and Iris goes to Caitlin's, Barry goes to meet with Carla Frost at Tannhauser, and Mark and Chester will keep working on the CRC. He says that they'll bring back Caitlin and Frost.
Snow is in the medbay, and gets up from her bed when she hears Hartley working on his sonic gauntlets. She asks what he's working on, and she admits that she doesn't care but is worried that he's hurting. Hartley says he's boosting the gauntlet's efficiency by 400% to deal with Fiddler the next time they meet,. He tells Snow to go away, and tells her that she can't help him without Caitlin's medical knowledge or Frost's ice power. He clutches at his chest and Snow tells him he shouldn't be working. Hartley says that he has to get out of there, and Snow realizes he's afraid of someone else getting hurt. She realizes he's going to kill Fiddler and tells him that killing is wrong, and he's not a killer. Hartley says that he used to be a Rogue and enjoyed it, but Roderick changed him. Snow tells him that it's beautiful, but it's not real change and he still has to choose who he wants to be. With that, Snow walks away.
Iris is going through Caitlin's laptop, and Barry speeds in and shows her a file, and says that they can't get Caitlin and Frost back. Thomas Snow ended up creating a daughter with two mixed consciousnesses, and when he tried to reverse it he found out that the process would kill one of them. Thomas loved both of them and couldn't bear losing either of them. They're going to have to choose which women to bring back.
Later at STAR, Barry tells the others what he's discovered. He wants to hear everyone else's opinion but Mark's. Allegra votes to bring back Frost, because they're carrying out the plan Caitlin wanted. Chester disagrees, and says the science makes the most sense to bring back Caitlin. Iris chooses Frost, simply saying that she has her reasons. Barry wants more time to think about it, and Mark says that in eight hours he's going to do it no matter what Barry says. Snow comes in and says that they're all a family, and being torn apart because of her. She wishes she'd never been born and walks out.
Later, Barry is considering when Iris comes in. He tells her that it's his fault, and he destroyed Caitlin's lab and wasn't sorry. Iris says that she choose because she didn't chooser her when she was alive, so she's choosing her now. Barry figures that when Caitlin stepped into the CRC, she made her own choice, and now he knows what they need to do.
Cecile approaches Snow in the lounge as it rains outside. Snow says that nature makes her feel at peace, and wishes she knew what her purpose. Cecile says that she can't read Snow's emotions, and somehow she just seems like a friend. Snow takes Cecile's hands and says that they should be friends, and Cecile tells her that she's genuine and that's rare. They sit and Cecile admits that she doesn't know how she would have voted. She asks Snow how she's feeling. Snow says that she likes herself, and she afraid of the decision the team will make.
Barry and Iris come in and Barry tells Snow that she should make the decision for herself. When Thomas built the CRC, he stepped back and let Caitlin and Frost figure things out for themselves. Only Snow can decide who she's going to be. Snow hugs them all and says that whatever decision she makes will be all hers.
An alarm goes off notifying the team that Fiddler is attacking the center of the city, at the Krakatoa Club. They confirm that Hartley is gone, and Barry figures that he's gone after Fiddler. Snow tells them that Hartley wants to do it alone, and he's finally made his choice.
Inside the club, guests run out as Fiddler confronts Roderick and the bouncers, and demands to know where Hartley is. She seemingly vaporizes the bouncers and tortures Roderick, and Hartley comes in and tells Fiddler to let Roderick go. Fiddler vaporizes Roderick, and before Hartley can blast her, Flash speeds in and blasts Fiddler with the Speed Force, destroying her fiddle. She says that the fiddle was just a tool, picks up a mike, and unleashes a blast of sound from within her through the speakers, at her two opponents.
As Fiddler says that it's time to get what she came for, Hartley blasts her. As he prepares to finish her off, Flash stops him and says that he doesn't have to do it and can still choose another way. Hartley tells Flash that he has nothing to live for now that Fiddler killed Roderick, and Flash says that he does. The speedster vibrates Hartley into a vibrational phase where Fiddler sent Roderick and the bouncers, where they're still alive. Hartley has to use his gauntlets to free them. Hartley does so, and Flash tells him that he did the right choice. The process also repairs Hartley's heart, and Hartley goes to Frederick.
Boomerang appears and Fiddler tells him that they got what they came for. The two of them teleport away while Flash is trapped in phase. Hartley realizes that they took his sonic gauntlets.
Later at STAR, Barry and Iris confirm that the new Fiddler is Andrea Wozzeck, and she's working with Owen Mercer, Boomerang. Why, they don't know. Mark wonders what they decided, and Barry tells them that Snow decided and told the others. Snow comes in and tells Mark that she's not going back inside the CRC, but is going to be her own person, whatever that is.
Mark wonders if he's supposed to forget about Frost, and Snow tells him that Caitlin did by creating a person with free will. When Mark points out that she doesn't even have her own name, Snow says that he always wanted a daughter named Khione. She hopes Mark can accept that a new bloom can't give up its life for an old bloom that died in its place, and hopes Mark can accept that because she wants to grow with all of them. Barry says that they all want that, but Mark tells Khione to get inside the CRC because that was always the plan. Hartley comes in and says that plans change, and destroys the CRC with a sonic blast. He says that he helped a new friend. Mark tells Hartley that the next time he sees him, he's taking him down , and storms out. Caitlin wonders if Mark is going to be okay, and Barry hopes so.
Back at their apartment, Barry and Iris have coffee and agree that they're happy for Khione. Barry figures that Caitlin would like Khione. Iris asks Barry if he has weekend plan, and Barry suggests they go on their babymoon.
Later, Team Flash go to the club. Even Joe gets out and dances, but Chester sits alone drinking. Allegra approaches him and asks if he wants to dance, and he eagerly joins her on the dance floor.
At the warehouse, Boomerang hooks up the gauntlets to a device with Fiddler helping him, and he says that it's ready. Red Death steps onto a platform and is surrounded by a sonic field, and then speeds through Central City and stops atop a building. He becomes solid and a Bat insignia appears on his chest. He says that Flash disgraced him, and now the city will pay the price.
