An amazing series that captures the magical journey of Kohinoor!

Before watching this series, I used to believe it was something about the size or the beauty of the Kohinoor which made it a diamond of such high stature. But after watching this amazing documentary along with the visual recreation, I have truly understood the significance of Kohinoor!

The series talks about the journey of Kohinoor over thousands of years, and how it gained prominence as a symbol of power. One gets totally immersed into this beautiful roller coaster ride of a story, and the narration by Manoj Bajpayee is simply out of this world.

Every Indian and history buff should watch it.

Neeraj Pandey + Manoj Bajpayee + discovery+ = 💥
MandalBros-519 August 2022
Secrets of the Kohinoor is the 2nd installment of 'Secrets' franchise by Neeraj Pandey. It tells the journey of Koh-i-Noor from its discovery in India to the Tower of London. I read the basic things, but it has a long history. The documentary has shown all of these in a very beautiful way. Manoj Bajpayee once again succeeded to engage us by his powerful narration.

There are many things I didn't have any idea about the diamond, like the disappearance of it for 100 years & the confusion with its weight. All the historical sequences are shown through animations and these animations are created beautifully.

E.g. When Koh-i-Noor got its name, BGM & visuals were too good. I'll definitely recommend this to watch.

Available on discovery+.

This is a must watch documentary. Most people generally give the excuse of documentaries being slow and info dense as the reason for not watching it. But it is so engaging throughout and so commercially viable as well. I guess that's what neeraj pandey does best.

Above average attempt at capturing the story of India's blood diamond..
apoorva-7611028 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The documentary had some effort put into it for sure. The animations, narration had some niche to it. But the main essence of a documentary are facts. And this won doesn't score enough points on that.

For one, as admitted by one of the speakers, the history about the diamond is clouded. Whether it did pass all those hands is not proven. Most of it is conjecture. Some of the stories even seem so funny. Like Shah placing it in the crack of the wall in his prison. Seriously!

Second, it's quite a known fact that the diamond was found in bhadrakali temple at warangal which is now a part of Telangana. The documentary shows it as a part of Andhra Pradesh/Telangana. Visually we see the word "KOLLUR" flashing on the screen. Now kollur gold farms are part of Karnataka now. At one point maybe all of this land was under Kakinda dynasty but now the lines are different. The makers should have done more research.

Overall, it was a good attempt even with these minor flaws. But we cannot deny that most of it might just be false. Is one of those mysterious objects, where we may never know the real story as it happened exactly.
