- Grayson returns by bus to Gotham, inner monologuing about how the city needs Nightwing. Alfred is waiting at the bus station to greet Dick, Harley and Ivy return on the same bus and shove Dick aside, steal the Wayne limo, and drive off. They drive into the mall and greet their teammate: Clayface, King Shark, and Frank. Harley announces Ivy's new plan, and lets her explain it. She reluctantly declares herself the boss and says they'll talk about the plan in a bit.
Nightwing goes to the Batcave and finds Batgirl's costume in his costume alcove. Batgirl comes over and introduces herself, and Batman and the new Robin is there. Batman says that they've made some expansions. The team gets a villain alert and heads off, with Nightwing riding with Macaroni.
At the mall, Ivy explains her new plan to reanimate the dead plant matter beneath Gotham and let it overgrow the city. She needs a compound found in historic mosquitoes trapped in amber, to start her Eden project. The Natural History Museum has a piece of amber, and has her plan in binders, and insists that she's thought of everything that could possibly happen. Bane comes in and congratulates Ivy on her plan, and says that he's there to get revenge for his wedding gift that Ivy and Kiteman didn't return after they failed to get married.
Once Bane leaves, vowing he'll be back, the team heads to the museum. The guards spot them and open fire, and the alarms go off. The team takes cover, and Ivy tells the others to run and escapes via a vent. Harley insists to the others that Ivy didn't ditch them and she has everything under control, and the team find her is the display room stealing the amber. They bombard her with questions about what's next, and she finally muzzles them with vine as the guards run in, shooting. She then breaks down a wall with her plants and carries everyone out.
Back at the mall, Ivy dissolves the amber with chemicals and gets the mosquito. She applies her chemical to a crack, reanimating the dead plant matter. One cute dandelion emerges, but soon mutates into a monster. Harley knocks it into a barrel of toxic chemicals, killing it. Later, Ivy admits to Harley that she screwed up the formula, and it would be better if she worked on the plan alone. Harley is shocked to learn that Ivy is excluding her as well as the others.
The Bat Team goes to the grain factory Firefly and his henchmen are attacking, Nightwing goes off on his own to fight them, and Batman and the team join in. Nightwing and Batgirl accidentally slam into each other, and a grain spill knocks out everyone else. The villains escape the heroes, and Batgirl figures they need to work out working together.
At the mall, Harley complains to the rest of the team that Ivy doesn't want her... she means, them. Harley is inspired by an ad for an escape room inspiring camaraderie,
Bane goes to a big box store to buy a bomb. His card is declined, and he walks off vowing to exercise vengeance on the store.
The team trick Ivy into going to the escape room, and it turns out the traps are real and it's all a plan by Riddler. They only have 45 minutes to escape. As the crew search for clues, Ivy tells Harley that she doesn't want the responsibility of being leader, and Ivy sets off a platform that spins them into a room with the Bat Family.
Bane goes to the bank company to find out why his card was declined. He has a number of suspicious charges that were flagged, and the teller wonders if he's depressed. Bane considers the possibility.
Riddle on video sends the two teams a chess-playing robot, and the ceiling starts slowly coming down to crush them. Nightwing insists on playing chess instead of Ivy, and Batgirl tells Harley that she saw the same TV ad and thought they needed a group camaraderie exercise. Meanwhile, Nightwing wins but spikes emerge from the descending ceiling. Ivy points out that he killed them, and Nightwing berates himself for his stupidity.
The others search for clues, and Clayface mentions the new Thomas Wayne movie he's appearing in. Batman is none too thrilled about a movie made about his dead father.
Nightwing breaks into tears and considers killing himself because he's a failure. Ivy tells him to shut up about his issues, and finally figures that they have to fail to succeed. She resets the chess board and plays a fool's mate, while Nightwing jams the gears on the ceiling. They lose and the ceiling retracts.
Batman complains to Macaroni about people exploiting the Wayne family, and a bored Jason Todd plays video games on his handheld. Everyone reunites, and Ivy admits to Harley that she was right. Harley assures her love that they'll always have her back even if she screws up, and they kiss. Batman finds the hidden exit, and the video for Riddler irritably congratulates them.
Back at the mall, Ivy successfully completes her formula and accepts her chance of failure. She uses the formula on the crack, and another dandelion emerges and dances. However, after a minute it melts down into the crack, and everyone runs.
Bane drives up to the mall, vowing revenge, and the mall collapses. The villain admits that he feels nothing and wonders if he needed a therapist after all.
The crew climbs out of the wreckage, and Frank has mutated from the formula into a godlike being.
In the Batcave, Nightwing tells Batgirl that he's part of the Bat Family. They get another alert about Firefly and Nightwing gently declines Batgirl's offer of a ride and goes with Macaroni.
