This isn't so much a short film but is more of a poem set to a montage of romantic imagery and this is in no way a criticism . At its heart is lifelong friendship at its core is based on a mutual unrequited love . Come on we've all been there people . We all want someone who is unattainable but because of circumstances they will always remain unattainable and we never get the chance to tell them how we feel
Actually the more I think about it the more Ryan Hutchins short film might fall apart . The protagonists we are told have known each other since they were nine but never got together . Hmmm I thinking it might have been more likely that sometime hormones might have kicked in somewhere and they might have given the relationship a very good try in their early teens . There is a happy ending here but it's difficult to believe the relationship came to fruition when the characters were in their twenties . In fact the happy ending spoil the film somewhat because as someone who knows all about existentialist angst and the reality is love is often an unfulfilled thing so would have given it a higher mark . I guess I'm in need of a hug ?
