Body And Soul
FanScribbles9 May 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This episode holds promise. A strange medical condition, unique to a small culture within the population: classic House. And a damn shame it's coming too late. So this kid (a really cute kid, by the way) belongs to a small culture with a history of unexplained deaths. After arriving at the hospital, the kid speaks a language he's never heard, a pig is found slaughtered in the kid's bedroom, and the grandfather believes in spirits and that the kid's soul has been stolen from him. And he has bruises from his dream! Excellent! And then he levitates over his hospital bed? Even more excellent! On the personal front, things continue to evolve between House and Dominika. Of course House would throw away Dominika's INS approval. He doesn't want her to leave, because maybe he's starting to like her for real. And somehow, the writers have managed to endear Dominika to us. I actually found myself rooting for her with House. The more we learn about her, the more we understand she can actually match wits with House on many levels. So naturally, he screws it up, and she gets wise to his game. And of course he would let her go. What the hell is going on between Chase and Park? First they're friends, then there is some hint of attraction on Park's part, then they're more like siblings, then back to attraction? What happened to Chase's interest in Adams? The schizophrenic love interests scream of the writers' pathetic attempts to drum up personal drama between the characters. It's annoying, and very boring. And Wilson, the oncologist, has cancer? How poetic. Is this really the direction to take? This makes me seriously worry about the way this show will end.

Bombshell pt 2

Warning: Spoilers
I would have rated this a 6 or 7 if it wasn't for the last 3 minutes.

The Hmong story was ok. But the last 3 minutes put a lump in my throat.

1st) -Dominika was cute, goofy, smart, and most of all, she seemed flat out nice. Did House help her out? Absolutely. But when she found out he was hiding her immigration mail, she didn't get angry or yell at him, but she was still kind enough to give him a hug goodbye.

Wow, that was sad. Wish we had more people on the planet like her.

2nd) The obvious. Bombshell 2.0 -Wilson reveling has has cancer.

I didn't see that coming. And the lost look on House's face crushed me. Also very sad.

Levitating without explaining... oh boy.
richardmolenschot15 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Well, if you know magic, you know no one can levitate (when lying on a bed) without a construction of some kind. So the story line of a boy who might be possessed, inexplicably levitating, doktors confirming they couldn't find any wires is utter bull in the realm of House, we're everything is explained. So please do some research as a writer if you'd like to incorporate some magic.

Four stars for the rest of the storylines.

nonsense and religious bs

Warning: Spoilers
Love the show, but this episode almost made me mad. The show is all about the explainable, but in this episode, it's played out like it could be medicine or spiritual rituals doing the healing. In itself, it's tolerabel, but when the usually smart doctors doing mistakes just in time for the ambiguous final, i'm out.

This is a total miss. 4 Stars because one of House's story line moves forward

Religious Hoccum

Warning: Spoilers
This episode doesn't belong in house...it belongs in any generic superstition supporting garbage...so basically anything else on tv The great thing about House md is that everything is explained through logic and reason by a brilliant Atheist The most rational character in fiction

This episode advocated for fictional superstitious hoccum to explain a fascinating real disease

House did come up with the answer but it was presented ambiguously

I hate this episode It's a disgusting insult to the hardcore fans I don't even consider it an episode of House I skip it every time I rewatch the series.

First decent episode of second half of season 8.

Warning: Spoilers
I genuinely thought I would hate the show until the end by now. But the couple of episodes I just saw kind of made me change my mind about that. They still featured very mediocre medical cases, only this one, apart from stealing another Grey's idea from season 2, I think. Still had an interesting « investigation » that could have gone places. Only the fact that we never really got a last diagnosis, to this boy's « evil », was kind of frustrating... I almost had a stroke during Chase's dream. I really thought writers dared going there. But, and even though it comforted me in the idea of Park being a revolting little troll, I'm still grateful for their elevator « talk » near the end... But that's not the best part either, the thing that made me like this episode so much, was Wilson's shocking confession. It finally gave me a storyline I could hang on to this season. Which, besides being about House's boring drama with his parents and wife, had nothing special to offer so far.
