Host Marc Isaacs grew up eight miles from an historic lighthouse located on the St. Lawrence River in Ogdensburg, New York.
The Sabine Pass Lighthouse was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in December, 1981.
The original keeper's dwelling was destroyed by a hurricane in 1886.
Construction on the Sabine Pass Lighthouse began in 1855 under the supervision of United States Lighthouse Service (LHS) inspector Walter H. Stevens (also later to serve as a Confederate States general) and took two years.
