After Homer's dream, we see Ted Nugent shooting kids from his compound bow. He shoots all the kids up and to the left. Just as he shoots Wendell and he flies through the upper left of the screen, we see Flanders bringing in a bulls-eye with all the kids-including Wendell--embedded in it. There's no way Wendell would have made it to the target at all with the angle he was shot at.
