Apparently it's traditional to break a plate on the first day of filming - for good luck. Unfortunately, one of the directors, Andres Kõpper, used a bit too much force and cut his hand with a shard from the plate. They rushed to a pharmacy to get a band-aid, and by the time they finally got one, the pharmacy looked like a slaughterhouse with blood all over the place. The director still has a 2cm scar on his finger.
One of the leading characters is played by Ott Lepland, who will represent Estonia in the 2012 Eurovision song contest. Andres Kõpper, one of the directors, is also the lead singer in a band called Tenfold Rabbit and went head-to-head with Ott Lepland in the Estonian finals. Out of the 10 finalists, 2 of the highest placed were to be chosen for the final public vote. One of the two places went to singer Lenna Kuurmaa and the tension in the air became almost palpable, when Ott Lepland and Andres Kõpper both competed for the second coveted spot. Only one point separated them, when Ott won the place, and subsequently was voted the winner in the competition.
