- Simple people struggle through extraordinary circumstances. Sometimes the only answer to any problem is 'The world is funny so we have to laugh.'
- The film opens on a group of adults taking a creative writing workshop in the Tiberias public library. The workshop is led by Roni [Yehezkel Lazarov], whose home water supply is constantly getting cut off by the city, compelling him to habitually ask his across-the-hall neighbor, Yardena [Assi Levy], if he can use her shower. Yardena, long divorced and the bereaved mother of a soldier who died in an IDF training accident, has just discovered she's pregnant, after not having had sex for years. Yardena is also the eldest of three siblings who were orphaned when she was eight. The second, her brother Meiron [Danny Steg], is the bitter and mean-spirited widow and father of Chilik [Or Ben-Melech], 17, and Nesi [Moshe Ashkenazi], 19. Nesi has just awoken from a nine-year-long coma caused by the same car accident that killed his mother, and keeps asking where his mother is. Meiron routinely arranges blind dates for himself and then sabotages them with his mean-spiritedness. Yardena's and Meiron's younger brother, Golan [Eli Finish], is in love with Natasha [Ola Schur Selektar], who is undergoing cancer treatments and given to angry outbursts and mood swings. Golan's goal in life is to get his hero, entertainer Shaike Levi [himself], to give a tribute performance for Natasha, also Levi's ardent fan. Yardena, Meiron, and Golan have not spoken for years, which disturbs Natasha, who begs Golan to get back in touch with his siblings. The character connecting them all is Tsafi [Naama Shitrit], a young twenty-something who cleans the houses of all the rest of the characters, even though as the child of wealthy parents, she has no apparent need to do so. In the background as a running theme are the characters quoting lines from Shaike Levi's 1960s cult-status comedy troupe, haGashásh haChivèr, including Golan, the town deejay, who plays haGashash's routines on his morning radio show.
