Kevin Spacey and Michael Shannon in Elvis & Nixon (2016)

Goofs

Elvis & Nixon

Edit

Continuity

When Elvis and Jerry are waiting for their flight at LAX, a very noticeable long-haired man carrying a guitar case walks left to right and is almost even with their row of seats when the camera angle changes. Then, the hairy man is suddenly a few yards behind where he was, and again walks up to the row where Elvis is sitting before he turns left to find a seat.
Elvis was brought into Oval Office at 5:00. During the meeting, the clock on wall says 12:35. See at approx 1:02.

Factual errors

Elvis reads a book on Numerology and has an aside with Jerry about Jerry being a 6, while Elvis is an 8.

However, according to the rules of Numerology, using Elvis' birth date of 1/8/1935 (1+8+9=18=9) he is actually a 9, making his speech about his unique qualities inaccurate.

A 9 is the most complicated of all the numbers and the most difficult to make sense of. Until you understand its evolutionary purpose, life can seem like an eternal roller coaster. Trauma after trauma may be experienced until you finally accept that emotion is what you are here to learn about.

This would've been much more poignant given the events of this film.

Revealing mistakes

One of the end tables in the Oval Office has a large broken area missing from the woven mesh of its side.

Anachronisms

In the Oval Office: The Dr Pepper bottles logos are ten years ahead of their time.
The scene in which Elvis is sitting at LAX shows Southwest Airlines 737 classics in the canyon blue livery. These aircrafts were not introduced until 1984, and that livery was not used until 2001.
When the front of the hotel Elvis is staying in is shown, a 1990-1992 Cadillac Fleetwood is shown pulling up to the front door.
During the meeting in the parking garage, they stand next to a 1972 Pontiac convertible. The movie takes place in December 1970.

Errors in geography

Hotel they were staying in city and close to White House. Scenery shown and speed of car is not consistent with commute between the two places. Would have stoplights.
The Hotel Washington, where Elvis was staying, is across the street from the Treasury building. In the movie, the Presley limo is seen pulling up to the entrance, and there is a parking lot in the background.
