I've heard of Rouen
This episode in Andre de la Varre's SCREEN TRAVELER travelogue series covers the Norman towns of Fecamp, Yport, Rouen and Lisieux. Like most of the series, de la Varre seems more interested in the way the ordinary people live, the architecture, and the history of the region than other, better remembered travelogues. Because those match my interest better, I think it better than, say, Fitzpatrick's TRAVELTALKS for MGM, even though this is in black and white. De la Varre shows you the shape of the land, the blessing of the sea, and the shop windows filled with cheap souvenirs for tourists. It's a far better look at the area between the two world wars.
