Not bad, might just be good
arachnapheobia21 April 2013
I was seriously expecting this show to be a major let down but thought I'd give it a shot and am seriously glad I did.

I was a serious fan of the movie and the series does not disappoint. Except for Tallahassee, but thats because Woddy Harrelson pretty much made the character seriously awesome and this guy plays it more of a Will Ferrell/John C. Reilly style. But I guess, give it time and I might warm to the character. Rest of the cast is pretty good, each play their part well and are very close to the originals. But enough comparison to the movie cast.

Acting and story is pretty solid and looks like they could do a lot with it so really hoping there's more.

Love the Zombie Kill of the Week theme, will love to see what they can do with that.

Why copy the movie characters?
theboss-544-16949924 April 2013
First off, I enjoyed the pilot, let me get that out of the way.

there is only one big thing that gets in the way, the characters are just different actors playing the people from the movie.

I am unfamiliar with the folks in the cast, but they have a huge hurdle to attempt to mimic 3 Oscar nominated actors and Emma Stone. so why bother?

Zombieland is big enough that the series could have focused on another group of survivors and be just as fun. it could even be argued that the "Rules of Zombieland" are no secret and have been passed around a bit.

So that is what I do not like.

I really enjoyed the Actor Playing Tallahase, he was not trying to impersonate Woody Harrelson (although the Twinkie gag at the beginning was a cool tip of the hat) and that is the way it should be. I loved the material between him and the off screen "Detroit" . . . if Amazon does pick this up, I will stop watching it if this character is not continued.

The language was a tad too rude, but I will not complain much about that. there was no chemistry between our Boy/Girl lovers and frankly that bothered me a bit as it did not even come off as Awkward attraction, but I liked the actress in the role, Again, should be playing a character that is not Emma Stone.

I say lets see some more, but change the series so that is not the same characters (Keep the cast though, just rename them).

Pretty decent pilot, just not fresh anymore
Horst_In_Translation4 October 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This half-hour pilot unfortunately did not get picked up for a TV series. It's a sequel to the popular movie Zombieland starring Eisenberg, Stone, Harrelson and Breslin. Unfortunately, they did not manage to get any of the original actors on board, so they added a completely new quartet of actors that all have done some TV work before, but not too known. The most famous of the bunch may be Maiara Walsh, who had a recurring character on "Desperate Housewives" for example. However, what was maybe lacking with the cast, got put right with the crew. The writers from the movie also wrote this short film and the director is the one from "Tucker and Dale vs Evil".

All in all, it was an entertaining 30 minutes that had me hooked quite from the start because Tim Bagley is always a welcome presence for me. I wasn't really fond of Walsh's performance, but everybody was pretty okay with what they were given. I don't believe it was a lot worse than the film it is based on, here and there acting-wise maybe, but the story was equally good. It had weaker parts like the count, but I could bear with these thanks to the funnier highlights like for example how everybody they run into gets massacred by the zombies somehow. The skyscraper window cleaner particularly had me in stitches. It's unlikely somebody will ever watch this if he hasn't seen the film, but if you liked it, this one's definitely worth a watch, also thanks to the zombie seniors near the end. It's maybe hurt a bit by the lack of romance aspect and that the whole story obviously is no longer as innovative before the movie and The Walking Dead, but it can still make for an entertaining 30 minutes.

Review on series Zombieland
louisgrundy1621 April 2013
Zombieland the series have they gone to far? in my opinion the series will be too much like the film but will never be as good because they face a big problem because they don't have the chemistry that Emma stone, woody harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg have in the film, which contributed to the film massively. Another problem is that one of the main protagonists in the film Tallahassee (Woody harrelson) who stood out for his sheer love and talent at killing zombies, who also was an ionic figure in zombie-land will never be lived up to by anyone else.

Columbus, Wichita and Little Rock more or less feel like the same characters that were introduced to us in the movie and are okay, but Tallahassee however feels completely different. Maybe it was Woody's charm and his natural bad ass attitude that makes the film so good, but this Tallahassee seems more like a joker than the film's version.

Overall the they manage to keep a similar feel to the series and make the 30 minute episode quite funny and comical. However when watching try to watch it as a series and don't make comparisons to the movie and try and focus in on the episode and it becomes quite enjoyable to watch and could be a success.

1/10 is as low as I can rate it.

Warning: Spoilers
* There are spoilers in this review but the show is so awful my review is probably more entertaining than the show. *

The Zombieland Pilot from Amazon is just "WOW" but in the worst possible way because it's just completely AWFUL! They took an awesome movie and then butchered EVERYTHING that made it good.

1. Same 4 main characters, All actors replaced. Woody is irreplaceable as "Tallahassee".

2. Changed Tallahassee's backstory for no reason at all and because of that makes NO SENSE at all as to why he is the way he is. The movie's backstory was perfect.

3. Made a bunch of stupid jokes, only one of them landed but it was more of a contagious laugh vs being actually funny.

4. Turned Columbus into a useless character who is just irritating. Columbus was meant to be a geek but he has charm and kept everyone alert with the rules. This version is a loser and annoying.

5. a TON of Plot Holes!

5.1: they repeatedly talk to the LAST OnStar agent trying to find people to join their group but NO ONE they find is ever in a car which makes you think "how the eff does she know where they are?". || why would OnStar even work? How could the system even work with one person...an agent can't maintain a satellite system. || Why is she ALWAYS there? How could she always be there if everyone around her is dead or zombies?

5.2: Columbus stops to wash his hands...a water system is not going to keep working without people keeping it working...if almost everyone is dead or zombies then the water and sanitation systems would all be broken.

5.3: Where are they getting all of the GAS? They continue on for months and months yet somehow never ran out of gas? Then decide to do a cross-country road trip with gas never being a problem.

6. the show is PREDICTABLE and boring...they didn't do anything that I didn't figure out 10 minutes before. I watched the entire episode to write this review but I was hating it within 4-5 minutes. As soon as they explained who the sandwich guy was...instantly turned to crap.

Amazon could have made an EPIC show with this IP but they failed in every aspect. The biggest failure is to try and keep the characters from the movie without the actors that made them.

This universe could have been used in awesome ways, they should have created a whole new set of characters experiencing Zombieland and told a totally different story that took place in parallel to the movie. Maybe they could have had the original actors do cameos with that structure but is guaranteed they won't now.

You could argue "they can't because of the guy's rules needing to be in the show" to I would reply with, "EVERY NERD has rules for this, there are websites devoted to that and they made up stupid rules anyway".

Overall = 0.5/10 and I am giving it half a point because it made me laugh that one time. (officially IMDb doesn't allow me to give it less than 1 but 1 is more than it deserves)

Zombieland, An Honest Review.
allyssarainn25 April 2013
Without question Zombieland The TV series falls short on quality of actors and budget compared to the movie.

At first when watching the pilot I kept finding myself thinking I wish it was the same actors playing the same characters or new characters in general. Then after looking past the flaws in the new faces I found the show enjoyable, and even sorta funny.

Personally I thought Detroit the voice OnStar was a great navigational addition to the cast, the bond of the four characters (even though the characters are portrayed by different actors) still flows smoothly from the transition from the big screen to the small screen; For some I could see how the transition could be a bumpy one, but once you look past the sight of new faces you will see a promising new show, which has endless possibilities.

In the opinion of Allyssa Rainn "Never Judge A Book By It's Cover, And Never Judge A Show By Its Pilot Episode" lets see where this show can go and what bridges the creative team dares to cross.

Awful... Just awful
mrss-dhb22 April 2013
I watched it with a open mind knowing it could not possibly be like the movie considering the budget/actors and etc. It should not be allowed to carry the Zombieland name. It is just awful. I could get past the acting as they do see to put in effort. BUT the writing is terrible. It tries to hard to be all thing, funny , bloody, kinda scary and accomplishes none of the above. Maybe if you had never seen the movie you could see this as some college level project in a acting class on making a low budget TV show. BUT most of us have seen the movie and this is just cashing in on the name and legend of the movie. Hands down the worst spin-off I have ever seen. I get it that this is the first episode. BUT usually you put your best foot forward and if this is the case with Zombieland the TV/Internet show than I will pass on any other episodes.

No Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg, or Abigail Breslin, but still pretty entertaining!
unconquered_0924 April 2013
First of all, I would like to say that before taking the time to write a review, I first read a few that were written by others. It seems that the common consensus among the other people who wrote reviews was that the show sucked because it didn't have the all-star cast that the film had. I also liked the original cast (especially Harrelson), but obviously they didn't have the option of retaining those elite actors.

All in all, the actors that they use for the show do a pretty good job with it. The guy that plays Tallahassee is almost as good as Harrelson. The girl that plays Wichita may be even better than Emma Stone was in the film. The only real downfall in the cast was that the kid who plays Columbus doesn't have that quirky greatness that we come to expect from Eisenberg, but he still isn't bad.

The show is pretty entertaining, and the dialog is absolutely hilarious. Sure the movie may have been better, but overall I'd give the pilot an 8 out of 10. I personally cant wait for more episodes!

Not that bad. Enjoyable. Nice violence. Has it faults.
Finfrosk8612 October 2015
I missed this whole thing with the pilot and the voting and the this and the that, and now the whole project is scrapped. But that will not stop me from reviewing it! Nevar!

OK. So, I enjoyed this. The first minutes are absolutely perfect. Sort of clever. Then it goes a little downhill, not a steep hill though.

The main problem I think people had with this is that these actors are playing the characters from the movie. That was a mistake. I actually didn't realize it until the at the end, haha. Now, I'm not sure if it would be better to have new characters, but it probably would.

The violence is great. There's swearing, which always elevates things. The actors are alright. Yeah it's kind of clichéd here and there, but I think this would have made an entertaining show had it been green-lit. But we will never know now, will we!? Probably not.

The guy playing Woody Harrelsons character is sort of funny. Not my favorite cup of tea, but he did alright. The rest ain't much to say about, really.

As a TV-short this is enjoyable.'

I feel sort of sorry for the actors involved, they were probably real happy to land this part, and then the whole thing just falls apart. Hang in there, folks!

Some new actors replace the old actors from "Zombie Land" to make a very bad TV show
bananaguy4226 May 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This was such a disappointment. In the very first scene (not a spoiler) they just say "fuck" for the first three minutes, going on about something that happened in a star bucks. The actors that were hired to replace the classic actors were terrible. The zombie makeup was completely awful. The story was absolutely horrible, the acting itself was horrible, and the writing was horrible. The jokes that would sound casual and smooth in the movie were choppy and sloppy in show. This went from a funny zombie movie to a pathetic, raunchy, TV show where "vagina" is said about forty times in the first episode. The fact that it IS a TV show means there is a lot less blood and gore and its very disappointing. Nothing at ALL like the walking dead. I can't believe this got made

My two cents
bradleykirksey29 April 2013
I loved the movie Zombieland. I've seen it a handful of times, and it cemented my man-crush on Jesse Eisenberg. It's a funny movie that balances the absurd, the funny, and packs a nice moral without ever even approaching heavy-handed.

When I heard there was a TV show with no Eisenberg or Harrelson or Stone or Breslin, all stocked with actors I didn't know or didn't like, I wasn't so happy. I said it was going to be awful and that I wouldn't watch it.

The result is better than I expected, but not what the movie offered, and frankly, if you go into it expecting the movie again, you'll be disappointed.

The movie had some fun dialogue and a present but subtle point. The TV show is much better at slap-stick gags. It showed a commitment to the dialogue and the theme and the character development, but it was honestly boring. That part is not written nearly as well as the movie, and I strongly suspect that it won't get better over time.

The slapstick gags are funny though. While predictable, there were several times I laughed out loud, which is something I seldom do for slap-stick comedy, especially if I go into it promising myself to dislike it. I had some really nice chuckles, which I seldom get from TV shows.

While I understand that this was never going to be the original part II, there was one major change I seriously disliked. In the original, Tallahassee was insane, neurotic, but the smartest one of the whole bunch in his own twisted way. Columbus was the bumbling clueless one, and Tallahassee was the one who protected him from zombies and girls. In the TV show, Tallahassee has lost about 50 IQ points. He went from an insane but bright zombie killing machine to a guy who to quote the show "asks for price checks at a 99 cent store." They did a decent job at capturing everyone else's character, but they practically killed Tallahassee.

The original Zombieland starred four actors with a combined four Oscar nominations. The TV show stars four people that I had barely heard of. The believably is a little stretched, Wichita no longer looks like Emma Stone, and Eisenberg's narration is no longer as fast or clear as it used to be. The storyline isn't as well written or as well acted as it was before. But it's funny. It's a TV show, so you were never going to get Eisenberg back. You were never going to get Hollywood writers working on a draft for years at a time.

But it has some things right. In addition to some nice cheap laughs, it has the theme right. At the end of it all when the zombies get to us, what are you going to miss? It won't be TV, it won't be IMDb. It'll be people. As much as Wichita and the others don't want to hear it, the show keeps the family motif right, and Tallahassee still demonstrates that if life is worth living, it's worth living now. To quote the show, "If God sent you back to Earth five minutes, and those five minutes was right now, what would you do with it?" It's an important question that too many people never ask. They get up, go to a job they hate, eat food they dislike, come back to a family they resent, and spend their whole lives looking forward to the weekend, which always disappoints. And the show, like the movie, promises that there's more, and it's all around you right now. The TV show is probably heavier handed than this review while the movie was very beautifully subtle, but it's there. The TV show might be very different in form and delivery, but when it comes down to the point, it's the same in substance.

So the rating breakdown goes like this for people: A handful of zombie apocalypse nuts giving this a 10, a bunch of frustrated people who wanted more of the movie giving it a 4, and a few people in the middle who like it for what it is, not what it isn't.

Potentialand...
Flashroxx19 April 2013
I'm not sure, I just watched the pilot and although I had done a load of digging on the internet a while ago about Zombieland 2 probably not happening and a series probably happening with the same actors...rumour after rumour...I was surprised to see that there it is finished and ready to watch online right now!

First of all I was met with the initial sinking disappointment that this means there definitely is no Zombieland 2 but the double blow that it doesn't feature AT LEAST Woody Harelson...booo.

Still, I love Zombies and I loved the movie although it was just a little too heavy on the silly for me, like the Bill Murray bit which was still awesome just took away the realism a bit, so I was still excited for the TV show and had to watch it immediately (despite already watching Land Of The Dead and finishing off Volume 18 of The Walking Dead already tonight!)

First of all, the opening was funny and impressive in terms of gore and action, although from the get go I could tell this was going to be a lot more of a comedy than the movie. But still I can deal with that, then I saw the new Tallahassee...I was thinking to myself, "That can't be him?!"

This new guy definitely grew on me but he just wasn't BAD ASS! And that was how he was in the film! This guy was funny and great and everything but Woody oozes a cool that this guy so far just hasn't got the ability to pull off, or maybe that's just how they've written him.

So other than pulling the show apart with the differences to the movie, (Witchita's casting is a miss fire) it was good. Funny, very gory and some cool action. i hope it at least gets a first season so I can see where they take things.

From this first episode for me it felt a bit like Scrubs with zombies, it lacked the emotion of the film such as finding out about Tallahassee's tragic past which it needed something like that to pull me in, saying that it certainly didn't look cheap which was a worry for me, the effects and zombie kills were great, Columbus was great as was Littlerock.

It's got potential, lets see what happens...

One other thing, do you have to destroy the brain of these Zombies? I'm sure they killed one with just a shot to the chest...

Pathetic
sjanmaat19 April 2013
Poor acting, poor casting, poor script, just pathetic. Why anyone would bother wasting any amount of money on this rubbish is beyond me.

I suppose you could overlook the acting - they're not going to beat the original casting in the film. You could even pretend that the extremely low budget make-up is just one more attempt at making this a comedy.

But when you think about how brilliant the film was, how seamless it was, how the effects just came together, how the acting worked, you can't compare the two. Why they made this poor, low-budget weak attempt to ride on the coat tails of success of the film is beyond me.

Save yourself precious time, don't bother.

Warning: Spoilers
When I first heard of a Zombieland TV show, I was extremely excited. But when I started watching I noticed the cast was different than the movie. And I know that the original cast would require a higher salary than this show could provide, but it still bugged me. I felt that at some parts of the pilot were funny, but others were just painful. The love story between Columbus and Witchita that brewed in the movie suddenly just disappeared in this show, and seemed inconsistent with the movie's story line. There was one part of the show that bugged me to the limit, was the guide (like Siri/GPS that was human) talking to the group as they drove through their zombie invested world. I didn't understand how she was guiding them or how they were talking to each other! It didn't make any sense. And how did she know where everything was? I mean electricity is shut down, so there would be no possible way of communicating with other survivors (especially ones that you haven't even met!). I will keep watching the show, but it is just a few things that don't make sense. I will give it a 6/10 and a 62/100.

Epic Fail.
dainslatton-647-81663122 April 2013
Right off the bat this show seriously annoyed me with the complete lack of any original ideas. Don't get me wrong. I wasn't expecting much, but they couldn't even go so far as to create new characters for the new cast, who look and act nothing like the characters from the movie. Basically the whole show is just some terrible attempt to get ratings based on the viral name of the movie. I would have been able to tolerate the show if they could have been bothered to create a new story, rather than trying to continue the already completed one at any cost. The acting ranges from okay to painfully bad, the writing is worse, and the action is completely unrealistic. I find myself struggling to watch it. I'm gonna go watch walking dead reruns. At least they are well written and generally well performed.

Zombie land the series episode one review
damian_hockey7 June 2013
So I'm going to start by saying I'm a HUGE fan of the Zombieland movie and as a man who is very much in love with zombies (Not in a necrophilia sort of sense) but a literally i cant get enough of ZOM COMS sense, I wasn't holding much hope for the TV series But episode one might just prove me wrong, With an excellent introduction to one of our main and favorite characters this episode will let you hold on for hope that this series might be the comedic bone tickling series we all really want, With some brilliant choice in casting (Seen as the stars from zombie land the movie are currently too busy) Zombieland the series will make you feel right at home with the characters from the movie we all know and love, Well except for bill Murray of course, With new rules to zombie land and a new take on Columbus and Wichita's relationship there is also a great character depth which we didn't see in the movie, and it seems like it will progress the more we watch, The humor keeps on coming like a banjo to the face and will keep you laughing throughout from the subtle humor here to the rock in the face there we will just have to see how the series takes us SO FAR SO GOO 7 / 10

Zombietown
thromalis19 April 2013
Warning: Spoilers
What do you get when you take an awesome film, gut out the main characters, the actors, the personalities, the humor, the logic, the realism, the believability and even the ZOMBIES?

You get Zombieland. The biggest piece of garbage to ever grace television as the pilot was released today on Amazon's video service. Everything, literally every movement in the first episode was entirely predictable.

The characters are not only NOT played by their movie counterparts, but the actors who do play them make the characters feel awkward, dumb and nonsensical. It's actually astounding just how many dumb decisions are made in this episode and just how much they try to make you feel like an idiot for watching their show. Everything from dumb poop-jokes, children dropping F-Bombs to a play on someone's name that sounds like a reproductive organ ONLY to make that joke and then kill the character not even 5 minutes into their introduction. Which is all that this show's episode was. Introducing characters with the SOLE purpose of killing them off for an unfunny joke. Also, I'd love for someone to explain to me how in the show, which takes place after the movie, there is still clean running water, electricity and other facilities. Including, Wait for it...

Onstar. F****ng Onstar.

Thank you, Creators. Thank you for sullying the great job that you did with Zombieland with this garbage. Thank you for turning Tallahassee into a childish retard instead of a badass. Thank you for ruining the build-up between Wichita and Columbus by making her seem like a c**t, breaking up with him only to start up the road toward their relationship -again- for seemingly no reason. And lastly, Thank you for wasting 30 minutes of my life that I will never get back.

When the team that created this show gets gutted just as badly as it was, be sure to do a little extra for whatever mook decided that having Tallahassee and Little Rock go for a run inside of a City right after seeing someone get killed, for literally NO REASON. That was just moronic and stupid. As was every other event that occurs in this.

Lastly, In a movie called Zombieland one would expect for there to be more than TEN zombies in the entire first episode, especially when it takes place inside of a City. ESPECIALLY when they set off a massive amount of fireworks in a scene that comes out of nowhere, for no reason at all. How is this Zombieland? This is Zombietown. Which sounds like a Facebook game. Which would probably be a better follow-up to the movie than this show.

This wasn't as good as the movie. It wasn't even as good as the trailer for the movie.

Zombieland TV series review
strongmindwins21 April 2013
The first episode was very entertaining. The down falls are few. The hardest part for me was getting over the change of characters from the movie. I mean Woody Harelson is one of the best actors out their. Then Emma Stone Abigail Breslin and Jesse Eisenberg are doing very well in their careers. Personally i enjoyed the movie very much. But once you get over the change of characters the show is in my opinion one of the better comedy t.v. shows on the up and coming.I enjoyed the show and believe you will do the same.Oh and don't watch this with your kids. Lots of generated blood and lots of comedic death of zombies. But i think young adults will like this if it gets pushed. I like the character choice and believe that 8/10 is reasonable. I want to see if amazon can pull this off and if it the second episode can bring my 8 up to a ten :)

Even worse than my expectations
tomokratie2 May 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This was seriously a big let-down. I can totally live with the actors being replaced. I still think it was a very bad idea to keep the original characters and names from the movie instead of inviting new ones, but that is really not my biggest problem with this series... The overall visual quality is even better then average (you simple can't expect a series to come even close to the quality of a movie, and that is OK). So what is the problem with this?

FIRST: The humor, or better, the lack of any... The jokes (and gee, are there many of them literally waiting around every corner) are very stupid and lame. There was no time in this first episode that made me even chuckle a little. So if bad humor is not your thing... stay away from this!

SECOND: There is an endless amount of plot holes and mistakes in this. Some would be acceptable, but the number of them makes you cringe. I lost all hope when a zombie was actually killed by a shot to the chest. How lazy or uninterested must a team of authors be to let something like this slip?

I think giving this less then 3 stars would be unfair. The technical aspect is better then average and the acting can at least be tolerated. Many other things in this first episode can't, so 3 stars it is.

Well done!!!
margaretbristow12 May 2013
I had imagined, that without the characters we had grown to love, that this movie to T.V. series would be somewhat of a disappointment, I could not have been more wrong about that.

I was pleasantly surprised that this held my attention just as much as the movie did.

The acting was great, actors well chosen. Enough blood and gore mixed with humor and levity. The script was wonderful, I look forward to a long life for this series if they keep up the momentum.

I was totally engrossed from beginning to end.

I am chomping at the bit for more.

Awful show, very disappointed. Awful cast.
deefarrugia21 April 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This is an absolutely GOD AWFUL SHOW. Especially with those of us with HIGH EXPECTATIONS, especially after the Zombie Land movie. It's hard to be put in the spotlight having to essentially "replace" actors like emma stone, regardless the show seems very rushed and thrown together. The premise makes no sense, it's very predictable, based off the one episode it's pretty easy to get an impression of what the show will be like. Family channel (Disney) actors, really? You couldn't have taken your time to choose a better suited cast, everything is all wrong. Incredibly painful to watch as a zombie enthusiast. It won't last long competing with shows like The Walking Dead, regardless of budget. It's an absolute mockery of the zombie genre. I give this show 2 thumbs down, Absolutely not impressed. Realistic or fictional, give some realism! The zombies are awful, special effects are awful. Really really really disappointed.

Make it more like the movie! put time and effort into it, I was cringing the whole time watching it. get a NEW cast, a better suited cast, it's awkward to try to watch "emma stone's" character be "cynical". and the awkward shy guy character is also painful to watch...

FIX IT, OR DITCH IT!

Absolutely dreadful

I did the pilot absolutely no favors by watching Zombieland the other day. While no Superbad, it was a little surprise comedy that had some really cute funny moments with a really smart script. It wasn't the funniest thing in the world, it wasn't the scariest horror comedy, but it worked more then it didn't. I'd like to say that it was because the writers really hit lightning in a bottle and have yet to achieve anything near as good as ZombieLand yet.

Now to get into the main reason the pilot doesn't work is the overall execution. There's the repeating of iconic imagery and lines from the show that doesn't work, the new actors don't even look like actors, if the Scary Movie guys made a spoof of ZombieLand these actors would be the new characters. The main thing that worked about ZombieLand was the chemistry. Everybody got along great and it's one of those movies that makes you sad that it's over due to the fact you may never see these characters again. These new people don't have the writing or the chemistry to carry that writing. But given this a pilot I'll somewhat give it the benefit of the doubt and check out the next episode if it ever comes out, say goodbye to Zombieland 2.

The world and plot are zombies

I just want to point out that I watched this pilot episode after reading some gray reviews expecting a bad time... and boy! I got one. First: empathy is missing among the characters. The group seems like a bag of cats... and man, in a post-apocalyptic world, food is not scarce! Second: children and zombies don't match! Isn't The Walking Dead a good example of that? Children usually nullifies the character taking care of them... and the last thing we expect to see are parents on their knees explaining the children why Mr. Zombie is eating that man's guts. Third: when using a movie concept, please consider to change the names, especially if the actors/actresses are not the same. Last, but not the least: humor. It is funny but the laugh you may get will not be fulfilling or satisfying to break-even the time invested. Not seeing it going any further than this pilot episode. It got a 5/10 for the effort.

Hard to judge from just the pilot.

This series seems to have a lot of potential in my opinion, I think the majority is being too rough on the series. After seeing the pilot I personally wanted more. I thought the acting was fair - not good, nor bad. And the story HAS a lot of potential. I read from other reviews that they despise the idea of the same characters but different actors, this may have some truth in it. Nonetheless the characters are characters and it's just a matter of 'not wanting it to change' that makes the shift so unbearable to people. I want to see more, because the show is more about the laugh than the zombies, which I enjoy. And because I love the humor in the movies (AND THIS SERIES). So personally I really do hope this show will be aired soon so I can get some more awesome zombiekilling on my retinal!

First off I would like to say that I really enjoyed Zombie Land the movie. I was more than overjoyed to hear about a series. With that, the opening scene was really funny I really enjoyed it. Although when I saw that the main characters from the movie were being reintroduced with different actors makes me feel like not watching anymore. The writing is good but, I am going to have to pass if the route of this show does not introduce new characters. Leave the characters from the movie out of the series.

It is never a good idea to change the whole cast.I mean ask yourself honestly replace Woody Harrelson not cool. If you cant afford to use them change it. Look at the opening scene more closely and expand from there.

This is a really great idea I saw it as a comedic outlet from The Walking Dead, which is done really well.
